Some people are never right. They never have good luck. They usually do the wrong things and say the wrong things. And even if what they say and do is OK, they say it or do it at the wrong time. So these people always have problems. They often break glasses. They sometimes miss buses or trains.

Mr.Neff is different. He is always right. He is never wrong. He usually has good luck. He hardly has problems. He never misses buses and trains. Even though he really misses them, it is always the fault of the buses and the trains.

Mr. Neff knows almost everything. He doesn’t ask questions. He answers questions. He never says “I don’t know”．

I don’t know Mrs. Neff. It seems that not many people know her. I sometimes want to know about her. Is she always right? Or maybe she is always wrong? Does she often break glasses or miss buses and trains?

Does she have problems? I really want to know!

Last week the manager of an old shop received a letter. As he was very busy, the letter lay on his desk till teatime. Then he opened it and $100 fell out onto his desk. Together with it was a short letter. It reads:

In 1935 I got engaged (订婚), but unluckily I lost my job. At that time a lot of people were out of work. Six months later I got a job again, but of course I was very short of money. I came to your shop to buy a wedding ring (结婚戒指). The girl took out some rings for me to look at, but she was called away for a moment, and I put one of the rings in my pocket. When she came back, I said I did not know the size of my girlfriend’s finger. So I left the shop without paying.

My wife died a short while ago and I had felt ashamed (羞愧的) for not paying for the ring all these years. At that time the ring cost$20, so I think it may cost $100 now, and I am sending you the money.

On Oct.10, 2014, at age 17, Pakistani female education activist Malala Yousafzai became the youngest Nobel winner. When she was only 11, she wrote a blog for BBC, talking about her life under Taliban occupation. In 2012, Yousafzai survived a shooting. She went on to become an advocate for human rights movement and fighting Taliban forces to promote education for women in Pakistan.

Ethiopian-born model Liya Kebede is a famous name in the fashion industry. But it’s her work as a maternal（母亲的）health advocate that has positively affected the lives of thousands around the world. Kebede has served as WHO’s ambassador for maternal, newborn and child health since 2005. That year, she also founded the Liya Kebede Foundation, which works to reduce maternal, newborn and child deaths in Ethiopia and other parts of the world.

As Afghanistan’s first female police chief, Jamila Bayaz is appointed to run security details in District 1of Kabul, Afghanistan, which houses the presidential palace, government ministries and the central bank. Apart from facing a conventional society, the policewomen of Afghanistan are under constant threat from insurgents（叛乱者）. Bayaz is also the mother of five children.

In 2012, Zainab Bangura, from Sierra Leone, was appointed special representative of the United Nations secretary general on sexual violence in conflict. Stressing the point that sexual violence needs to stop, Bangura helped bring about a U.N. declaration in which 140 member states committed to ending abuse during conflict.
