As the saying goes, “Chance favored the prepared mind.” I learned this from one of my experience.

I was not chosen as member of the volleyball team of our school. Because of this, I decided to give up play volleyball. Luckily, my best friend stopped me but pointed out that it was my laziness and poor preparation which led to my failure. After that, I practiced playing volleyball on every day. When another tryout arrived, I was full prepared and tried my best. As a result, I was selected and became an important player on our school team.

From this, I am firmly convincing that we are able to seize a chance as long as I get well prepared.

Life is not easy for any of us. We will unavoidably suffered bitterness and sadness from failure. Thus, there is very important for us to have a good mood in our daily life. If you have a good mood, you will be happy with everything in the world. Most important, you will have an optimistic effect at the people around you. We all will live harmonious and happy life. It is good for our health as well.

However, sometimes when you meet some difficulties, when you quarrel with others, but when you fail in doing nothing, you may have a bad mood. If so, you should get rid of it as soon as possibly. As we all know, every coin has two sides. So you should think more about its bright side. We are sure that everything will be better with time passed by.

In general, our houseparents are annoying for boys students in dormitories. I didn't begin to like our houseparents until one night in last week. I was asleep when my alarm clock drops onto the floor and was broken into pieces. After the while, the houseparent on duty opened the door and rushed in. Instead of blaming me, he asked me anxiously who was going on. Before making sure I was OK, he asked me to go back to sleep and cleaned up itself. Since then, I completely changed my opinion of our houseparents. They were like our parents, keeping all of us safely.

The other day I ran into an old schoolmate of my, Sally Barber, while I was at the cashpoint. I hadn’t seen her for age. I wanted to catch up with her, so I suggested go for a cup of coffee. Unfortunately, Sally’s a very busy woman, but she didn’t have time for a coffee. Let’s meet late in the week, I suggested. That is often the case, Sally looked in her diary, and said we could get together for lunch at 1 pm on Friday at her favorite restaurant. I thought it was a very much smart place, so I had dress in for the occasion. I arrived at a restaurant in good time. I finished my dessert by the time she turned up –she was an hour late!
