Plates can decide how sweet dessert tastes. If people ate it off a paper plate, they’d say, “This is good.” If they ate it off a fancy silver plate, they would say, “This is the greatest cake I’ve eaten in my entire life.”
Your knowledge about what makes food good or bad also affects how much you eat. You tend to eat more when you think the food is good, and less when you think it is bad. So Grandma’s cookies always taste better than other cookies. “Good food” even has a “health halo(光环) effect”. If we’re eating something healthy, we feel that everything in that meal is healthy. Due to this, people often believe that a cheese cake with a salad has fewer calories (卡路里) than the cheese cake alone. That’s perhaps also why eating organic (有机的) food might turn you into an annoying guy. Your brain may use anything that makes you feel good about your own morality to excuse your immoral behavior .
Food and hunger affect your judgment too. Hungry judges give more serious sentences. Kids who don’t eat breakfast behave worse than kids who eat their breakfast. People who have low blood sugar are more likely than the average person to have trouble concentrating and controlling their unpleasant emotions.

Kimchi, which tastes similar to the Chinese Pao Cai, is not only a main dish eaten at nearly every meal by Koreans, but also an important ingredient(配料)in many other Korean foods.
While the most popular variety is the spicy kimchi made of cabbage, there are more than 100 different types of kimchi made of various vegetables, like radish(小萝卜), onion or carrot. Thanks to its unique fermentation(发酵)process, kimchi is selected by the American magazine Health as one of the top five healthiest foods in the world and helps prevent the growth of cancer.
Cabbage Kimchi
Enjoyed by most Koreans, Cabbage Kimchi is made with a whole, uncut salted cabbage mixed with Korean chili powder, garlic, fish sauce(酱)and other spices.
Radish Kimchi
The basic ingredients used for creating this kimchi are the same to those used to make Cabbage Kimchi, except that the cabbage is replaced with radish. The distinct characteristics of this kimchi are that it is pleasantly hard and that it makes a noise when you chew it.
Water Kimchi
This is a less spicy kind of kimchi that uses both cabbage and radish. Using a great deal of kimchi water, it tastes sweeter than other types of kimchi due to the addition of sliced fruits such as apple and pear.
Young Radish Kimchi
Young Radish Kimchi is prepared and eaten in summer when cabbages are not yet ready for harvest. This kimchi is made using young summer radishes, mixed with Korean chili powder and green onions, giving it a unique smell and taste.

It is amusing that yogurt, which was invented to make milk last longer before the days of refrigeration, now makes grocery shopping last longer. Full-fat, or nonfat? Greek, or regular?
A key recommendation when it comes to fat is to choose low-fat or fat-free yogurt. That's because dairy fat is mostly saturated (饱和的), the type linked with increased risk of heart disease. Besides, full-fat dairy has more calories than nonfat.
This view, however, has been challenged by a few recent studies. Researchers think that full-fat dairy might offer some as-yet-unknown health benefits. It might also help with weight management because the fat in it makes it more satisfying, helping keep our appetite in check.
Greek yogurt has these qualities because of its unique liquid-removing process. Unfortunately, lots of nutrients, including calcium (钙), are sometimes drained, too. Therefore, thickened yogurt and regular yogurt offer different nutritional benefits.
Finally, it is worth mentioning that it's the added sugar, not the naturally- occurring sugar (which is removed in Greek yogurt), that should be the cause of our concern. Fruit-flavored yogurts that appear to be healthy may have little actual fruit and plenty of added sugar instead.
A.Consumers, however. are not confused only about fat. |
B.Mixing them up and enjoying both might be a good idea. |
C.With so many conflicting headlines about fat these days, it's no wonder people are confused when buying dairy products. |
D.Our best bet might be to buy plain yogurt and sweeten it ourselves using fresh fruit. |
E.There are so many choices that we often find it hard to decide which yogurt to buy. |
F.They're naturally ''packaged'' with so many important nutrients that it would be misguided to avoid them. |
G.Yet more research needs to be done for us to fully understand dairy fat’s health impact . |
