How to use your NatWest Servicecard

As a Switch card, it lets you pay for all sorts of goods and services, whenever you see the Switch logo. The money comes straight out of your account, so you can spend as much as you like as long as you have enough money (or an agreed overdraft(透支) to cover it. It is also a cheque guarantee(担保) card for up to the amount shown on the card. And it gives you free access to your money from over 31,000 cash machines across the UK.

How to use your NatWest Chshcard

You can use your Cashcard as a Sulo card to pay for goods and services wherever you see the Solo logo. It can also give you access to your account and your cash from over 31,000 cash machines nationwide. You can spend or withdraw(提取) what you have in your account, or as much as your agreed overdraft limit.

Using your card abroad

You can also use your Servicecard and Cashcard when you’re abroad. You can withdraw cash at cash machines and pay for goods and services wherever you see the Cirrus or Maestro logo displayed.

We take a commission charge(手续费) of 2.25% of each cash withdrawal you make (up to £4) and a commission charge of 75 pence every time you use Maestro to pay for goods or services. We also apply a foreign-exchange transaction fee of 2.65%.

How to use your NatWest Credit Card

With your credit card you can do the following:

* Pay for goods and services and enjoy up to 56 days’ interest-free credit.

* Pay in over 24 million shops worldwide that display the Maestrocard or Visa logos.

* Collect one AIR MILE for every £20 of spending that appears on your statement(结算单).

(This does not include foreign currency or traveler’s cheques bought, interest and other charges.)

Picnic Shelter Reservations

Vancouver Parks and Recreation maintains four covered picnic shelters that are available (可获得的) for your reservation at the following parks:

●Fisher Basin Community Park

●Leroy Haagen Memorial Park

●Marine Community Park

●Marshall Community Park

Picnic shelters are available to reserve between May 1 and September 30 each year. Reservations are for the entire day with a reservation fee of $100. When not reserved, shelters are available for free. Reserve a picnic shelter by calling 360-487-7100.

Shelter Reservation Cancellation (取消预定) Policy

If you cancel your reservation one month or more before the rental date, 100% of the fee will be refunded (退还). If you cancel your reservation 1-4 weeks before the rental date, 75% of the fee will be refunded. No refunds will be given if the reservation is canceled less than one week before the rental date.

Reservations include the use of all picnic tables located within the shelter and electricity (there is no electricity at Marine Park). Playground amenities and restrooms will be shared with the public.

Depending on the type of event you’re hosting, you will need to get a Park Use Permit from Vancouver Parks and Recreation. A Park Use Permit gives you permission to bring special items and equipment into the park.

HSBC/British Council Mandarin Chinese (普通话) Speaking Competition

Does your school teach Mandarin Chinese? Enter your students into the HSBC / British Council Mandarin Chinese Speaking Competition and they could be heading off to Beijing in April next year!

The competition is for UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man secondary school students and college students.

Regional heats will take place in Newcastle on 6 December and in Glasgow on 16 December this year and the final will be held at the British Museum in London on 10 February next year. The prize is a week-long cultural visit to Beijing in April next year for the winning students and the teacher from the school of the winning group.

Entry rules:

A school may enter up to a maximum of 3 students for the competition. Students entering the Beginner. Intermediate (中级的), Intermediate+ and Advanced categories:

*must be non-native speaking learners of Mandarin Chinese;

*may not be from a Chinese speaking household;

*may not have lived in a country where Mandarin Chinese is an official language.

Beginner category is for students who have learnt Mandarin Chinese for less than 1 year. Intermediate category is for students who have learnt Mandarin Chinese for 1-3 years. Intermediate+ category is for students who have learnt Mandarin Chinese for 4-5 years. Advanced category is for students who have learnt Mandarin Chinese for more than 5 years.
