Danxia Mountain is a noted scenic area near Shaoguan in the northern part of Guangdong Province. It is described as a “world famous UNESCO park of China”. There are a number of temples located on the mountain range and visitors can enjoys many scenic walks in the area. There is also a river that winds through the mountain area and boat trips along the river are offered to visitors.

The Golden Lake is located in the northwest of Fujian Province. The Golden Lake is surrounded by mountains and forest. Stone bamboo shoots stand tall with springs flowing through them. There are more than 1,000 historic sites, such as the Baishuiji waterfall, lover’s peak, and the 5-kilometer-long calm lake. It is also regarded as “Lake of Gold” by tourists at home and abroad.

Longhu Mountain is located in Jiangxi Province. It is famous for being one of the birthplaces of Taoism, as many Taoist temples were originally built upon the mountainside. It is particularly important to the Zhengyi Dao as the Shangqing Temple and the Mansion of the Taoist Master are located here. It is known as one of the Four Sacred Mountains of Taoism.

Langshan Mountain is one of China’s National Geological Parks famous for its unique Danxia landform, covering an area of 108 square kilometers. It is filled with rich natural scenery and abundant tourism resources. There are more than 500 scenic spots in Langshan Mountain. Among them, the most famous are Tianyi Lane, Chili Peak, Fuyi River, and the Xicun Ancient Dwelling.

China’s “Little People’s Kingdom” is a theme park, where little people dance and sing in fairytale costumes, drawing both curious groups and criticism. The theme park, near Kunming City in Yunnan Province, employs 108 dwarfs from across the country, who gather on an artificial hillside twice a day to dance and sing for tourists. And all pretend to live in a tiny hilltop village.

The guests can watch shows like comedies, group dances and acrobatics (杂技). The show’s centrepiece, a funny performance of Swan Lake, sees performers dressed in special pink costumes and pretending to be little swans. “The first time I performed it (Swan Lake) I felt a bit embarrassed. I had never worn a skirt like that before. But later, once I got used to it, I found I could do it very well,” said Chen Ruan, from Hunan Province who joined the park when it opened.

For many of the employees, the park offers a rare opportunity to find work. As unlikely as it seems for men and women doing daily funny performances of Swan Lake, they think that it feels good to live in dormitories that look like caves while living with people with similar experiences. In addition, the life facilities in the park are made according to their special needs. Besides, performers in the park earn 2,000 yuan a month, around twice the salary of a high school graduate.

The founder of the park, Chen Ming, made his fortune by producing electronics and investing, but said he had always wanted to help the disadvantaged groups in the community. People, like human right activists (积极分子) for the disabled, think that such a park only encourages the discrimination against little people. The only requirement for participants to be employed at the theme park is to be shorter than 51 inches and be able to take care of themselves in daily life. The youngest employee is 18, and the oldest is 48.

You can watch penguins leap out of the water, sun themselves, or listen to one of our trainers talk about these amazing animals. You might even get to see them eat! Hear about their avian (鸟类的) characteristics as we introduce this cherished threatened species to the guests of Sea Life Park Hawaii.
