Zoos are some of the most delightful places for children, and even adults 【小题1】 all ages love to visit them. Zoos are more than just a place of entertainment and education for people, but also a place 【小题2】 animals are kept in safe enclosures. Zoos allow us to enjoy 【小题3】 (view) animals, 【小题4】 we would have to make a trip to Africa to view them.

My first trip to the zoo 【小题5】 (be) years ago during an elementary school trip. That was the first time I had found 【小题6】 (I) close to wild animals like tigers, lions, giraffes and zebras. The last time I visited the zoo was about a year ago when I took my kids there. Children especially are interested in such animals on display and in terms of 【小题7】 (education) value, I would say that the trip was worth every minute 【小题8】 (spend). However, there are some of us who feel that animals shouldn’t be kept in enclosures, but should rather be let out in the wild. Some feel that keeping animals in enclosures is 【小题9】 form of cruelty. But looking at it from another perspective, the same animals might not survive this far had they been left on their own in the wilderness because of the presence of their 【小题10】 (enemy).

A few weeks ago, I received a letter. It was from a friend of 【小题1】 (my) who felt a bit down. His life was full of 【小题2】 (problem). He ended his letter to me 【小题3】 this question, “We can’t really change this crazy world we live in, can we?” I answered him quickly and started my own letter with these words, “Yes, we most certainly can!”

I can still remember one of the first times my world 【小题4】 (change) by someone. She was the music teacher at my elementary school, the guitarist at our church, and a family friend.

One day she let me try 【小题5】 (play) her guitar. I did my best but could only perform badly. When I was done, I put my head down. “I guess I am not very good,” I told her. She 【小题6】 (look) at me kindly and said, “We are all good at something. You just need to find out the things 【小题7】 you are good at.”

【小题8】 (lucky), those simple words changed me. Can you change the world? Yes, you can! You can change it and make it better every single day of your life. I realize that I had something to give to others. All you have to do is share your 【小题9】 (kind) and it can make 【小题10】 difference then.

The idea of helping people comes naturally to most of us. If we see a blind person getting off 【小题1】 bus, we watch to make sure that he is in no danger of 【小题2】 (fall). 【小题3】, there are many people who have nobody near to see their need for help even when the need is known. The old, the handicapped (disabled), and the homeless — these are the people for 【小题4】 help may not come, because nobody sees. Organizations exist which try to make sure that someone sees when help 【小题5】 (need) and does something about it. Volunteers give up a little of their spare time 【小题6】 (lend) a hand.

If you wish to take part in this worthwhile activity, think of the people most in need of help and the ways in which help can be given. Old people cannot always redecorate 【小题7】 (they) homes. Household repairs, cleaning, preparing food or taking care of the garden may all prove difficult. Elderly people with failing eyesight are 【小题8】 (delight) if a friend comes in to read or to write letters for them.

People confined to wheelchairs cannot go out 【小题9】 somebody takes them. Blind children may love swimming but they need a sighted 【小题10】 (swim) to go with them.
