David was a 14-year-old boy who was very honest and diligent. Recently, he had entered a new school and still had no friends yet. On Monday morning, he was nearly late for school. The night before, his family attended a wedding and reached home late, which contributed to his being late.

All the morning, David could not pay attention to anything and wanted the bell to ring so that he could buy something to eat. After a few hours, when the bell rang, David quickly opened his schoolbag to find his money, but just then he remembered that he had left for school in a hurry in the morning and forgotten to take money. When he went towards Bill and asked if he could borrow some money for his lunch, Bill laughed a lot and said,“I knew you were a loser, maybe a beggar?” Bill laughed out so loud that other kids also heard it and made fun of the situation. David didn’t answer Bill, and slowly walked back towards an empty bench.

When he reached the bench, he noticed something lying near it. It was a wallet. He picked it up and recognized it was Bill’s, as he remembered Bill ever showed it to his friends and told them that his uncle had bought it for him as a birthday gift. There was quite a lot of money inside for a kid.

Children from three communities affected by the latest mass shootings in the United States are starting a new school year. Singer Lady Gaga is trying to make their return to school a little happier and easier.

The Grammy-winning singer recently announced she would pay for several schoolroom projects in the cities of El Paso, Texas, Dayton, Ohio and Gilroy, California. In El Paso, there are new books for third-grade students, many of whom do not have any books at home. In Dayton, students with disabilities will have special chairs to help them stay calm. In Gilroy the fifth-graders are getting fun new tools for their science lessons.

Gaga’s aim is to bring a measure of hope to places affected by an especially violent week of mass killings. She wrote on her Facebook page, “I want to channel my confusion, frustration, and anger into hope.”

The money for the projects came from the singer’s Born This Way Foundation, in partnership with the nonprofit group Donors Choose. The Donors Choose website says it “ connects teachers in high-needs communities with donors who want to help”.

A public school teacher from New York City started the organization in 2000. He had wanted his students to read the famous American book Little House on the Prairie. But, he only had enough money to buy a single copy of the book for the classroom.

Gaga chose to fully finance a $ 462 request for books at El Paso’s Whitaker Elementary School.

Rebeca Blanco-Grijalva wrote in her appeal on Donora Choose that she teaches third grade at a poor school. She described her students as “ desired readers”. But many of them do not have any books of their own to read at home.

Gaga wrote on Facebook that the money for these and other projects will give teachers “the support they need to inspire their students to work together and bring their dreams to life.”
