China set a new record for its manned deep-sea diving operation with a submersible（潜水器）diving to a【小题1】（deep）of 10,909 meters in the Mariana Trench（海沟）on Tuesday.

The manned submersible “ Fendouzhe ,”【小题2】means “striver” in Chinese, successfully landed on【小题3】   seabed of the Mariana Trench, the world’s deepest trench, at 8:12 am on Tuesday.

The submersible, together with the mother ship Exploration 2, set off from Sanya, Hainan Province, for the 10,000-meter-deep-sea diving operation on Oct. 10.

That spot, called the Challenger Deep,【小题4】(be) roughly 10,900 meters deep. The water pressure is 110kPa, equivalent（相等的）to 2,000【小题5】(Africa) elephants.

The submersible will attempt another dive into the world’s deepest【小题6】(know) point on Tuesday. Last month, Fendouzhe【小题7】(make)its first journey to the Mariana Trench onboard its mother ship, Exploration 2.

Fendouzhe has the ability of carrying up to three passengers to the deep sea【小题8】( conduct) scientific research. The instrument【小题9】(power) by electricity and can operate for around 10 hours underwater.

Almost all the vehicle’s technologies and instruments were developed by Chinese researchers, according to the China Ship Scientific Research Center.

In June 2012, China’s first deep-sea manned submersible, named【小题10】the mythical sea dragon Jiaolong, set China’s Previous diving record by plunging 7,062 meters down the Mariana Trench.

The World Robot Conference 2021 opened in Beijing's E-Town on Friday,【小题1】 (display) more than 500 products from over 110 enterprises in three exhibition areas for industrial robots, service robots, and specialized robots.

A dog-shape robot, with cameras and sensors, and skills like stairs climbing, can be used in dangerous places for【小题2】(inspect) and patrol (巡逻). A humanoid robot,【小题3】is 1.45 meters tall and 77 kilograms heavy, can play the piano, write and draw pictures. As【小题4】service robot, it can also do chores, operate refrigerators and make coffee.

Those robots can be【小题7】 (help) in science and technology museums, railway stations, airports and so on, providing explanation and guidance services.

Another robot can deliver parcels to residents' doorsteps. People can fetch【小题8】 (they) packages inside the robot through face recognition. The robots have already been【小题9】service in a community of Beijing's Chaoyang district.

At the World Robot Conference, visitors can not only appreciate the exhibitions, but experience services of the robots, such as information inquiry, cleaning【小题10】 (venue) and food delivery.

May 15 (UPI)—China landed a rover (火星车) on the surface of Mars for 【小题1】 first time on Saturday, the China 【小题2】 (nation) Space Administration announced.

The Tianwen-1 orbiter launched from the island province of Hainan 【小题3】 July 23 and entered Mars orbit in February. The rover, Zhurong, 【小题4】 is named after the Chinese god of fire, set down on the red planet on Saturday morning.

China is the second country after the United States 【小题5】 (place) a rover on the surface of Mars. The former Soviet Union landed a probe on Mars in 1971, but lost contact immediately.

The rover descended (下降) from the orbiter via entry capsule, 【小题6】 (lower) by parachute before jettisoning (投弃) its outer shield and using a retrorocket (反向火箭) to land. Geng Yan, with the Lunar Exploration and Space Program Center at the CNSA, said the rover’s descent took about 9 minutes and 【小题7】 (perform) autonomously.

“Each step had only one chance, and the actions were 【小题8】 (close) linked. If there had been any flaw, the landing 【小题9】 (fail),” he told state-run media Xinhua.

The rover will spend three months searching for 【小题10】 (sign) of water and ice on Mars.
