For nine days in October, the New Mexico skies are painted as hundreds of balloons lift off from Albuquerque's Balloon Fiesta (节日) Park. For ballooning fans worldwide, the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a pilgrimage (朝圣). There's something for everyone to enjoy—special shapes filled with equal parts of hot air and wonder, and Balloon Glows that create a magical night landscape (景观) for audience to wander.
The Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta is a world-famous attraction and destination for kids of all ages. For more than three decades, the first week in October brings the smell of roasting chiles (辣椒) and the beautiful, magical moving picture show of hot air balloons sailing silently through the crisp fall air.
Guests from all over the world come to Albuquerque to celebrate ballooning. Literally hundreds of balloons will be taking flight from the Balloon Fiesta Park this year.
From its beginnings in 1972 with 13 balloons launching from a shopping mall parking lot, the Balloon Fiesta has grown to various events launching year-round at the custom-designed, 365-acre Balloon Fiesta Park. Our signature (标志性的) event remains Balloon Fiesta—which, with 700 balloons, is the largest ballooning event on earth, the most photographed event on earth, and the largest yearly international event held in the United States.
Imagine 54 football fields, all put together. That's the size of Balloon Fiesta Park's 78-acre launch field! And at this Park's “playing field”, there are no losing teams and no viewing stands. Guests walk the field and are part of the action....
Balloon Fiesta Park lies north of Almeda Boulevard, one mile west of Interstate-25.

How to Apply
For each class, we bring together a varied mix of high-achieving, intellectually gifted students from diverse backgrounds to create an exceptional learning community.
We care about what students have accomplished in and out of the classroom. The process is highly selective. In recent years, we’ve offered admission to less than 7 percent of applicants.
As you prepare your application, help us to appreciate your talents, academic accomplishments and personal achievements. We’ll ask for your transcript (成绩单) and recommendations, and we will want to know more than just the statistics in your file. Tell us your story. Show us what’s special about you. Tell us how you would seize the academic and nonacademic opportunities at Princeton and contribute to the Princeton community. Above all, please write in a style that reflects your own voice.
Princeton accepts the Coalition Application and Common Application. Princeton treats them all equally. To apply, you will need to submit online either the Coalition Application or the Common Application, plus the Princeton Supplement.

Everyday we see hundreds of marketing messages. Advertising has become part of modern life. But what is advertising exactly? In short, it refers to the activity of promoting a product or service.
Because the mass media reaches so many people, it is a perfect vehicle for advertisers. If an advertisement is placed on a popular website or on TV at peak times, a huge number of people will know about the product or service it is advertising.
Based on the psychology behind creating a desire to buy, advertisers have developed ways of persuading people into purchasing their products or services. A common technique to make an impact is to create a memorable slogan.
Another technique advertisers often employ is to link their company or product to a “brand ambassador”— a famous actor, a sports star, or even a fictional character. Think of a popular fast-food restaurant. Does it have a brand ambassador? Is the brand ambassador popular among potential customers?
Product placement (植入) is typically used in films and TV shows. Some films are now sponsored by leading brands, so that only their products appear in the film.
A.Slogans use simple but impressive language to make us remember the product or service. |
B.In addition, a successful advertisement will also create a desire to buy, thus promoting business. |
C.The more we like the brand ambassador, the more we will be attracted to buy the product. |
D.The history of advertising has been closely linked with that of the mass media. |
E.Now advertising is becoming more digital and more personal. |
F.Other types of mass media use product placement too, including video games. |
G.Some big manufacturers spend billions of dollars a year on advertising. |
