To celebrate the Lantern Festival the Palace Museum organized its first light show in the Forbidden City.

The complex, home to Chinese emperors for five 【小题1】(century), was opened at night for the first time in 94 years. It was lit up with giant red lanterns and projections of ancient paintings. Masterpieces such as Along the River During the Qingming Festival were projected on the roofs, giving visitors a feeling like walking 【小题2】 time. The design team smartly combined high technology【小题3】(light) with the principles of cultural relic preservation.

Only 3, 000 people 【小题4】(allow) in on that day: 500 people who booked their tickets online, and 2, 500【小题5】(invite) guests including model workers, officers, soldiers, and ambassadors.

World Read Aloud Day is celebrated each year 【小题1】 the first Wednesday of March. It was started by the LitWorld.org website in 2010 and till now it 【小题2】(reach) 65 countries. Its aim is to encourage people worldwide 【小题3】 cannot read to enjoy the benefits of a book. The website asks everyone to celebrate the day by taking a book, finding an audience, and 【小题4】 (read) out aloud. It is about taking action to show the world that the right to read and write belongs to all people.

The website asks 【小题5】 (visit) to join in the movement to reduce the number of illiterate (不识字的) people in the world. It is 【小题6】(absolute) necessary to help those who cannot read. The website says, "It's time to start by reading aloud to whoever might like it. Share a book with a child who might need 【小题7】, share a story with someone who would treasure it, listen patiently to someone else's story as they share it with you."
