There are some royal palaces in Europe that they often open their doors to the public.

Drottningholm Palace, Sweden

This breathtaking 17th century palace in Drottningholm is not only the residence of the Swedish royal family, but it’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its impressively preserved castle and theatre. The palace and park are open to the public year-round.

Royal Palace of Oslo, Norway

The official royal residence for the Norwegian royals, this beautiful palace boasts neoclassical architecture and landscaped gardens complete with ponds and eye-catching statues. During the summer months the palace opens to the public on guided tours, which include beautiful staterooms (会客厅), the Bird Room, the Great Hall and the Family Dining Room.

Royal Palace of Madrid, Spain

While the Palacio Real is officially the royal residence, nowadays the Spanish royals choose to live in the Zarzuela Palace instead, with the Madrid palace used mainly for state ceremonies. There are over 3, 000 rooms in this breathtaking palace making it one of the largest palaces in the world. Highlights include the royal kitchens and the painting gallery, while the Changing of the Guard ceremony never fails to be a hit with tourists.

Palace of Versailles, France

If you seek after a palace that’s luxurious (豪华的), then the Palace of Versailles needs to be on your list. France hasn’t had a royal family since the French Revolution in 1789, but this palace offers a glimpse into how the former royals lived, as well as serving as a museum paying tribute to France’s rich history.

Dubai isn’t your average international city, and it’s a lively place rich in culture and history. Although it may be known for architectural miracles, like Burj Khalifa Tower, the city is perfected by a series of landscapes, wildlife and natural wonders.

The spot is home to a huge variety of feathered residents. Just inside the busy city of Dubai, you’ll find a treasure of diverse bird life in the vast wetlands of the Ras Al Khor Wildlife Reserve. From one of the three bird hides, you can witness more than 25000 resident and migratory birds, which include great egrets, reef herons, cormorants and more. The real stars are the pink flamingos that flock to the area during the winter in the hope of attracting a mate.

The Zaynab goes deep into the water off Dubai’s coast. A short ride from Dubai’s shiny shoreline lies a little-known marine adventure. The waters of gulf are home to many magical secrets of the underwater world. The Zaynab, a 70-meter-long oil smuggling ship bound for Asia is a thrilling deep wreck site for advanced open water divers. Other interesting wrecks include the Sheikh Mohammed Barge, Neptune 6 and Victoria Star where divers could explore many more mysteries that lie deep below.

Global Destinations Where Visitors Are Strictly Off-Limits (禁止进入的)

In our times, we like to think that we can travel whenever and wherever we’d like. However, there are destinations around the globe that are simply off-limits. The reasons for these closures vary.

HEART REEF, AUSTRALIA

Located in Queensland’s Whitsundays, Heart Reef is a heart-shaped formation of coral nestled within Hardy Reef which was first discovered in 1975. As it’s a protected area, no one is allowed to swim or dive near Heart Reef. Luckily, it’s visible from above, so visitors can still take in this romantic natural formation by air.

SVALBARD SEED VAULT, NORWAY

While there are many seed vaults (种子库) around the world, perhaps the best known - and largest - is Norway’s Svalbard Seed Vault. It holds seeds from crops around the world as a safety measure against seed loss. As of June 2021, it held over 1 million different crop samples. The vault itself is closed to the public, thought ours bring groups to visit the entrance.

LASCAUX CAVES, FRANCE

The Lascaux Caves are one of the great treasures of pre-historic art. For about I5 years thousands of visitors a day entered the caves to enjoy the Paleolithic paintings, but by 1963 that had come to an end. The caves were closed to the public because the carbon dioxide generated by all the visitors caused green mold to cover the artwork. Since that time, art historians have worked diligently to restore balance in the caves.

SNAKE ISLAND, BRAZIL

As its name suggests, the island is completely filled with poisonous snakes. One to five snakes per square meter make the island their home, including the lethal Golden Lancehead viper. Native to the island, their venom becomes more poisonous as they mature. Due to their presence on the island, the Brazilian government strictly forbids visitors.
