I experienced the Naadam Festival in China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region for the first time this year. The festival falls 【小题1】 the fourth day of the sixth month of the lunar calendar, usually 【小题2】 (last) for three days, Nadam means “games” in Mongolian, and it 【小题3】 (represent) by three events: horse racing, wresting, and archery,【小题4】 are all so exciting to watch!

On the first day, I set off to the games early with my friend Burin. After the opening ceremony and some amazing 【小题5】 (performance), the wrestling competition began. Mongolian wrestling is different from the wrestling in the Olympic Games. There are no rounds, and wrestlers are not separated by 【小题6】 (weigh). The wrestler loses if any part of his body above his knee touches the ground.

I 【小题7】 (absolute) enjoyed the archery, too, but the horse races were my favourite part. However, I was surprised 【小题8】 (see) that the riders were boys and girls! I heard it is because children are 【小题9】 (light) and the horses can run faster and farther.

I’m finally back home now, feeling really tired,【小题10】 celebrating Naadam with my friend was totally worth it.

We seem to be very familiar with teahouses. The function of a teahouse varies 【小题1】 （wide）depending on the culture. In China, a teahouse is a place 【小题2】 people gather to enjoy tea, chat and socialize. It 【小题3】 （consider）as a symbol of Chinese tea culture.

Chinese teahouses enjoy a long-standing history. They developed 【小题4】 tea stands in the Western Jin Dynasty, took shape in the Tang Dynasty, developed gradually in the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing 【小题5】 （dynasty）and became booming in modern times.

In the Song Dynasty, teahouses existed all over cities and villages, at a rate comparable with that of restaurants. The owners 【小题6】 （prefer）to decorate their teahouses with paintings of celebrities（名人）and rare and precious plants 【小题7】 （attract）customers. In Ming and Qing, the number of teahouses went beyond that of restaurants, becoming 【小题8】 （popular）. Later, the acculturation（文化移入）of Western culture forced traditional Chinese teahouses to take on 【小题9】 new look. After reform and opening-up, teahouses flowered in China with the development of the economy and evident improvement of 【小题10】 （people）living standards.

Solar terms, also called Jieqi in Chinese, are 24 special days in the traditional Chinese calendar, 【小题1】(know) as the “fifth great invention” of China, solar terms show the Chinese wisdom of dividing time.

Solar terms first【小题2】(appear) over 2,500 years ago. The Yellow River Basin, is the cradle of them【小题3】(original), the region was China’s major political, economic, cultural and agricultural center. Until the Western Han Dynasty, the 24 solar terms were well established.

Created by farmers, 24 solar terms【小题4】(use) to guide farming in ancient China,【小题5】indicate certain changes in seasons and climate.

In ancient times, these solar terms allowed farms to know what conditions【小题6】(expect) and what farming【小题7】(active) to carry out during different period of a year. What's more, most of the solar terms have rich social and cultural meanings. For example, people eat pears on the Waking of Insects and dumplings on the Winter Solstice.

Today, in the time of modern farming, traditional solar terms remain 【小题8】 (importance).They remind us that nature is changing 【小题9】 its rate, and they reflect the relationship between humans and nature in【小题10】 understanding of Chinese people.
