At the 2024 China Ice and Snow Tourism Development Forum 【小题1】 (hold) in Harbin on Friday, Harbin Ice and Snow World was recognized by Guinness World Records as 【小题2】 largest ice and snow park in the world, with an area of 816,682.5 square meters.

The park, 【小题3】 combines ice, snow, sound and lights, is in its 25th year of operation. Visitors can appreciate more than 1,000 artworks 【小题4】 enjoy a range of other activities, including a 521-meter ice slide, the longest built at the park so far. A giant Ferris wheel (摩天轮) in the shape of a snowflake has also been set 【小题5】 to provide the experience of an 【小题6】 (impress) landscape after dark.

Also on Friday, the 40th Harbin International Ice and Snow Festival — the city’s annual winter gala — 【小题7】 (open) at the park, welcoming visitors from around the world.

Liang Huiling, governor of Heilongjiang, said at the opening ceremony: “Heilongjiang has abundant ice and snow 【小题8】 (resource) and is also the birthplace of China’s modern ice and snow industry. The province is 【小题9】 (energetic) developing characteristic cultural tourism and 【小题10】 (carry) out a series of activities to promote the ice and snow economy.”

Every year, at the end of October, tens of thousands of people flock to a Buddhist temple in China to see a huge gingko biloba tree (银杏树) drop its foliage (枝叶) and turn 【小题1】 temple from green to gold. Due to the increasing 【小题10】 (popular) of its ancient gingko biloba tree, the Gu Guanyin Buddhist temple has reportedly increased daily visitor capacity to around 7200, between 8 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon.
