One of the best-preserved fossils (化石) yet discovered has revealed that the young dinosaur used the same technique as baby birds 【小题1】 (break)out of its shell. The fossil, named Baby Yingliang, was found in southeast China and 【小题2】 (belong)to a group of feathered dinosaurs. And it provides the first clear evidence 【小题3】 dinosaurs’ assumed postures remind us of modern birds as the time approached for them to hatch.

Since the 1990s scientists 【小题4】 (discover)many more connections between birds and the dinosaurs. However, the posture of Baby Yingliang inside 【小题5】 (it)17 cm egg had not been seen previously. The creature is folded over, with its head resting between its legs and its arms pressed 【小题6】 either side of its neck.

In modern birds such postures are critical for 【小题7】 (success)hatching. The researchers now propose that this behaviour, which had been considered unique to birds, appeared in some dinosaurs,   【小题8】 (possible)hundreds of millions of years ago. Fion Waisum, one of the lead authors of the study, said, “It is interesting to see that this dinosaur baby 【小题9】 a chicken one pose in a similar way inside the egg, indicating similar pre-hatching 【小题10】 (behaviour).”

The Changjiang River, China’s longest river 【小题1】(rise) from the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, flows eastwards for 6300 kilometers, eventually reaching Yuantoujiao in Jiangsu Province, 【小题2】 it flows into the sea. While the economy is developing rapidly there, a large number of coastal wetlands have been preserved. This creates valuable habitats for millions of migratory birds and endangered species that prefer not 【小题8】(disturb). Today, sediment accumulation and continental shelf settlement (大陆架沉降) are two dynamic geological forces, which are constantly shaping the landscape and ecological processes of the Yellow Sea and Bohai wetland, 【小题9】(make ) it one of the most diverse and richest coastlines in the world. It is 【小题10】 organic combination of natural, biological and human functions, and a key hub on the East Asian-Australasian flyway of migratory birds.
