When an important holiday comes, I 【小题1】(usual) think of what gifts to buy or prepare for my family 【小题2】(member). It is the act itself rather than the thing you buy that matters. Either a small present, a text message or a phone call can mean a lot to the receivers. However, I had never got anything from my son, 【小题3】 is a university student. Parents never forget to celebrate their children's birthday, but 【小题4】(they) children seem to be very forgetful. They seldom do something in return.

Life is unpredictable(不可预测的), and you never know what will happen tomorrow. When my son came back during the summer vacation, my wife and I, as usual, met him at the station. When I 【小题5】(arrive) home, much to my 【小题6】(amaze), my son took out a wrist watch and gave it to me, saying it was a birthday gift for me. It is a very fashionable watch, which shows not only hours, minutes and seconds but days as well. You can imagine how surprised and 【小题7】 (excite) I was at that moment.

Some people say children get too much care and love from their parents and just take them for granted. It is natural 【小题8】 people to have such concerns and worries, but things may not turn out as badly as expected. We need 【小题9】 (look) more at the positive side of life, as a famous writer once said, "Life is the 【小题10】(good) classroom one can never get.”

In his book, Intentional Living, author John Maxwell shares that back in 1976, he received a gift from one of his 【小题1】 (assist). As he unwrapped the gift, he saw that it was a book 【小题2】 (name) The Greatest Story Ever Told. He couldn’t wait 【小题3】 (read) it.

But when he opened the book, he was 【小题4】 (astonish) to see that the pages were blank. Inside the book was 【小题5】 note that said, “John, your life is before you. Fill these pages with kind acts and good thoughts of your heart. Write a great story about your life.” The intention of writing the story of his life excited him. Then, he 【小题6】 (begin) to write his book.

Every day we live out our story through our words, actions and decisions. But we must remember to live with intention to focus on what 【小题7】 (matter) most in life and to regain that focus when we get changed. Without intention, we can become unfocused in things 【小题8】 needn’t add to a life of significance and difference in our world.

Life isn’t perfect and it’s always hard, 【小题9】 we need reminders in our life from a friend, author, blogger, pastor or our inner spirit to re-focus us on the things that matter and make us live 【小题10】 (positive).

I had pictured many times how excited I would be or what I would do 【小题1】 moment I reached the top of Mount Qomolangma. I had thought my excitement would be beyond 【小题2】(word). But when I finally stood on the top, I felt none of the excitement that I had imagined, because I was 【小题3】 (extreme) clear about my goal: to safely descend (下山). So my strongest feeling was that I had finished only half of what I set out to do; I was far from reaching the goal I set for 【小题4】 (I). So I couldn’t stay long here because the greater challenge was yet 【小题5】 (come). Besides, I should be responsible 【小题6】 others’ safety.

As the old saying goes, it is easy to go uphill 【小题7】 difficult to go downhill. On Mount Qomolangma, 60 to 70 percent of accidents happen during the descent because people might be mentally 【小题8】 (relax) and less focused.

On the top, I took a few photos before I 【小题9】 (hurry)to descend. Since we were calm, we made it down very smoothly except that a member got 【小题10】 (injure).

So whatever you do, you have to be careful and know what your goal is. Without a clear goal and carefulness, you might end up with terrible results.
