The end of the office?

For many white-collar workers around the world, the recent pandemic(流行病) has meant 【小题1】 (have) to work from home. Their usual office location has been out of reach. The different working 【小题2】 (practice), as we know, have advantages and disadvantages for employees. But the big question is whether they will see their offices again.

Home working has made people realize what tasks they can perform at home. It has given them more time with the family; they've been sleeping 【小题3】 (well) and have saved money by not traveling or buying lunches on the go. And recent research suggests the majority of people working from home are just as 【小题4】 (product).

For some people, this could be 【小题5】 lasting arrangement. But this isn't great news for everyone. Some employees will be full of 【小题9】 (anxious) at home, and there's less opportunity to learn from other people. Li Xianggang and his two students started the new semester【小题1】Sept 1 at Changxi Primary School in Youyang Tujia and Miao autonomous county of Chongqing.“I’ll stick to my post as a teacher as long as I can, so that the children can go to school,” said Li, who in the past 15 years has taught more than 100 students, many of【小题2】have enjoyed a brighter future.

The school 【小题3】(found) in 1968 is located in Qianfeng village on a mountain ridge with cliffs on three sides. It is the only primary school in the remote village, with poor land and【小题4】(convenience) transportation, and Li is the only teacher.

In 2006, persuaded by a senior village director, he came back from Shanghai and started to teach at the school, willing to serve younger generations【小题5】the pay was lower. As the only teacher, Li, 57, adopts a comprehensive teaching mode-teaching all kinds of classes including Chinese language, math and physical education.

Li has witnessed【小题6】number of students decrease over the years, from over 30 in 2006 to only two this year. Some local【小题7】(villager) have moved to nearby cities and towns for better jobs and living conditions.“A rural teacher should be a guide,” said Li,【小题8】(add) that some of his students are left-behind children, lacking discipline,self-care and learning ability.

In the past few years, China【小题9】(pay) more attention to teachers in rural areas and improved their working and living conditions. The career evaluation and payment of the rural teachers will be【小题10】(continuous) improved.

Tang Tianyuan from Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region was viewed 【小题1】 a lucky dog, for he succeeded in building a business based on a passion.

Tang,【小题2】 majored in ceramics(制陶艺术)and decorative sculpture design at college, set【小题3】 a workshop after his studies to make Nixing pottery, which is considered one of the top four 【小题4】 (variety) of pottery in China.

Initially, the pottery business was hard, as he had to make pottery himself while also 【小题5】(take) care of management and sales. But the past five years of efforts have earned him many more orders, compared to none at the very beginning.

Up to now, 【小题6】 28-year-old has been engaged in making Nixing pottery for five years, and so far the most【小题7】 (impress) thing for Tang is the happiness he 【小题8】 (achieve).

He said 【小题9】was worthwhile starting a business based on his own interest that could support himself as well as gain public【小题10】 (recognize).
