In her 102 years, Sally Lepis has been known for helping her family, friends and neighbours. So when the old lady couldn’t _________ to replace her decades-old hearing aids and it became increasingly difficult to _________, a local non-profit was happy to give a _______. Last month, Lepis was _________ with hearing aids, worth about $7, 500, through Senior Dreams Come True, a non-profit programme run by a law firm.

“Mrs Lepis has _________ so much of herself over the years to friends, family and those _________ in her community,” said Jennifer Cona, a managing partner at the law firm. “Lepis has long been the _________ that’s kept her family together,” her niece, Olivia Schmidt, said. When Schmidt was a teenager, her mother, Lepis’ twin sister, died at age 42. Lepis _________ jumped in and raised Schmidt in her Westbury home.

“It’s _______ that she has done so much for so many people and thinks ____________ of it,” said Schmidt, who ____________ to nominate (推荐) her aunt for Senior Dreams Come True over the summer.

We live in a rural area of the San Francisco Bay Area. Most of what we see is ________ and natural. One of the ________ to the beauty is the rubbish that some people throw out of their windows as they are ________on the rural roads. One of the few ________ to living in the mountainous area is that public services, such as rubbish collection, are less ________ than those are closer to the city.

A helping action that I practice ________ with my two children is picking up rubbish in our surrounding area. We’ve become so accustomed to doing this that my ________ will often say to me in pleasant voices, “There’s some rubbish, Daddy, ________the car!” And if we have ________, we will often pull over and pick it up. It may seem strange, but we actually ________ it. We pick up rubbish in parks, on sidewalks, practically anywhere. Once I even saw a(n) ________ picking up rubbish close to where we live.
