Maxime Biou, a winner of the 2020 Yishu 8 Young French Artist Award, is holding 【小题1】 exhibition in Beijing. Biou, born in France in 1993, is based in Paris. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 2019 and the following year he 【小题2】 (win) the Yishu 8 Young French Artist Award. Over the past few years, he 【小题3】 (participate) in artistic residencies in cities such as Madrid, Avignon, and Nantes, showing his creations in exhibitions 【小题4】 (hold) in well-known locations like Paris, Venice, and Arles. In October, Biou began his residency in Beijing. Within a month, he toured world- famous landmarks 【小题5】 the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, Beihai Park, and the Great Wall. He also explored exhibitions showcasing the works of young Chinese artists in the 798 Art Zone. Yet, 【小题6】 truly attracted him was the hutong where he chose to live. Biou 【小题7】 (skillful) pictures the essence of the hutong life on oil paintings in this exhibition. Displayed are four oil paintings 【小题8】 Biou employs his distinctive brushwork to paint the differences of time, light, scenery, and 【小题9】 (object) within the small alleys. Christine Cayol, the 【小题10】 (found) of Yishu 8, said that Biou enjoyed the nights of Beijing, where he illustrated his viewpoints and reflections on life. The exhibition runs until Dec. 10.

In many countries, it is not unusual for families of   【小题1】(difference) backgrounds to live together in the shared space. 【小题2】, in the United States, this idea may still be considered odd.

But this type of housing, 【小题3】(call) co-housing, is gaining popularity in the United States, too. Co-housing complexes are popping up across the country. For many people, this way of life is a 【小题4】(relieve) to the busy modern lifestyle. A co-housing community has 【小题5】(private) owned houses and shared land. There is often a “common house” with a kitchen and dining room, meeting room, and maybe a workshop of library or music room. About 25 co-housing communities 【小题6】(build) in recent years, and 150 more are planned.

A co-housing complex is a place 【小题7】 residents shop, cook, and eat together. Residents of a co-housing complex like its sense of shared community. Children have other kids 【小题8】(play) with, which many families like. Other residents like the feeling of living in 64. 【小题9】 “village”. Residents also say that they can live in co-housing for 【小题10】(little) money than they would pay for nearby apartment.
