China is a big country with many dialects. However, in recent years, the preservation of Chinese dialects【小题1】 (become) a subject of concern due to various factors.

Protecting these dialects【小题3】(be) crucial not only for preserving China’s diverse cultural heritage (遗产) but also for maintaining global linguistic richness. Last year, China published (出版) photocopies (影印本) of ancient Tibetan literature taken to France from the famous Mogao Grottoes a century ago.

The Dunhuang manuscripts (手稿) were first discovered in 1900 in the Mogao Grottos, 【小题1】 UNESCO World Heritage Site in northwest China’s Gansu. There are more than 60,000 of them. 【小题2】 (date) back to the 4th century, the manuscripts are 【小题3】 (main) in Chinese, but some are shown in other languages including Tibetan. In the early 20th century, a large number of Dunhuang Tibetan manuscripts 【小题4】 (take) to countries such as France and Britain.

Northwest Minzu University and Shanghai Chinese Classics Publishing House, together with some 【小题5】 (edit) from the National Library of France, compiled (编撰) the photocopies, 【小题6】 were published in 35 books as a set. The series is expected to show the 【小题7】 (economy) activities and cultural exchanges in the age of Tubo in Dunhuang. It took the team about 15 years 【小题8】 (complete) the documents in Chinese and Tibetan languages. It is the first time that the entire Tibetan literature preserved in France has been published in the form 【小题9】 photocopies.

At present, the ancient Tibetan manuscripts preserved in Britain 【小题10】 (change) into a digital form by Chinese researchers, in the country’s efforts to study and preserve unique Tibetan culture. It is said that the task is expected to be finished soon.
