The “happiest place on earth” is a top destination on many families’ bucket lists (人生目标清单). But taking a vacation to Disney World can be difficult to do on a budget. There are some considerations that you can make to reduce the cost of your Disney World vacation.

1. Come Prepared

Plan ahead so that you don’t have to purchase a necessity at Disneyland that you could have brought from home. For example, check the weather so that you don’t need to buy a raincoat or an umbrella.

2. Buy Souvenirs(纪念品) in Advance

Disney has influenced practically every industry, which makes it easy to find Disney items anywhere, from Walman, Target, and your local grocery stores to department stores and Amazon. You can save a lot of money by purchasing items before your trip at these less expensive places than at Disneyland.

3. Make an Autograph Book

An autograph book is seen as a must-have by many Disneyland enthusiasts and is a memory you can take home with you. These books can cost anywhere from $7.95 to $19.95 at the Disney Store and up to $30 for the latest-and-greatest autograph book at Disneyland, such as the park’s 60th anniversary editions. Other choices can get the job done for under $5. For example, you can buy a small photo album, cute pads or notebooks.

4. Take Advantage of Discounts Offered to Special Groups

Disney offers a wide variety of discounts (折扣), including for military service members, the college students and teachers, and youth groups. If you think you might qualify for a special discount or group rate, call the Disneyland Resort to book tickets.

Dear Charlotte,

For the first time in my life, I’m making a really good income, and so is my husband. We could be saving a lot more, but instead we spend it on fun vacations and nice clothing. I went from a ten-year-old Japanese car to a Tesla, and a thrift-store (二手店) handbag to a super-nice one from France. I feel like I’ve become a new person I don’t recognize. How can I go back to being someone who’s fine with thrift-store items, instead of this one with a perfect house filled with nice things that don’t matter?

I understand why you miss your old life. It feels good to live simply and to work toward larger financial goals. The problem, it seems, is that you never really envisioned (设想) the life you’d lead once you actually had money to spare.

I doubt you may also be feeling a little bit lonely. Studies have found that transitioning to a higher socioeconomic class can be isolating (让人感到孤立的) because it moves people away from familiar social circles and into unfamiliar ones. It’s also tough to talk about—having big money isn’t exactly a “problem”, nor a situation that most people can relate to.

I suggest an exercise: Write down everything you spend your money on, every day, for a couple of weeks. Then look at your list and focus on the things that felt worthwhile and satisfying. In doing this exercise, you’ll probably find that spending money on experiences, especially ones that strengthen your relationships, makes you happier than buying items.

It sounds like you have some guilt. That’s normal. I don’t mean that you should feel bad about having money. Instead, it’s good to be aware that you’ve been lucky—plenty of people never get to see the fruits of their work in the same way that you have. Amanda Clayman, a financial adviser, recommends gratitude exercises. “When you focus more on what you have, it helps you stay focused on what’s important to you, instead of what you’re missing.” she says.

While your new life may seem unrecognizable, that doesn’t mean you’ve lost the goal and drive that got you there—you just need to learn to redirect them.

Motivation is the desire to act in service of a goal. It’s the crucial element in setting and attaining our objectives. Some of the most common goals people make—and the most common goals they struggle to meet—are to eat healthier, work out more, and save more money. Many traps can prevent people from achieving those goals, but predicting those challenges can help achieve real change.

Many people struggle to stick to a diet. Research suggests that extrinsic (外在的) motivators—to avoid hurtful comments or fit into an outfit—can jumpstart the process but that intrinsic motivation—interest, enjoyment, and challenge in the journey—is key to sustained, lasting weight loss.【小题1】So it’s helpful to choose a diet that will be sustainable and effective and believe that the diet, start date, and end goals have been chosen autonomously and not “assigned” by others.

There are a few creative ideas to consider if motivation is a barrier to exercise. One is to widen the options you have: If you don’t have time to go to the gym, exercise by going for a walk, doing a bodyweight circuit, or watching a yoga video.【小题2】Yet you can also establish a social contract with a friend or family member. For example, if you allow phone time to replace exercise, you must donate to a cause of the other person’s choosing.

【小题3】The first is to set a specific saving goal for an emergency fund. This focused goal will build habits that become sustainable saving. The second is to save something every day, even if it’s just a few dollars, because repeat helps to form habits. Third, making savings visible, whether by checking a savings account online or keeping cash in a glass jar.【小题4】 In addition to cultivating a saving attitude, it’s important to change a spending mindset.

Most people, unfortunately, fail to follow through on their New Year’s resolutions. This might be because people tend to set overwhelming goals, engage in all-or-nothing thinking, don’t predict barriers, and beat themselves up when they get off track. By addressing those traps, people are more likely to truly achieve their goals.

Motivation is one of the driving forces behind human behavior. It fuels competition and sparks social connection. Its absence can lead to mental illnesses such as depression. 【小题5】   It’s the key factors in setting and achieving our goals.

A.It is helpful to find a community of supporters.
B.People can break large goals into smaller pieces.
C.Eventually, consistently spend less than you make.
D.The following steps can help cultivate the habit of saving money.
E.Intrinsic motivation includes competence, autonomy, and relatedness.
F.Motivation includes the desire toward meaning, purpose, and a life worth living.
G.Another is to make exercise more enjoyable, such as by listening to a book on tape.
