Sitting inside the Shenzhou XVI spacecraft, Gui Haichao, the first Chinese civilian on a spaceflight, together with the other two astronauts, 【小题1】 (launch) by a 20-story-tall Long March 2F carrier rocket, 【小题2】 took off at 9:31 am on May 30, 2023 at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center.

Born in 1986, Gui’s 【小题3】 (enthusiastic) for science has been developing since childhood. He had a set of encyclopedias (百科全书) from which he gained a lot of basic space knowledge. Years later, Gui Haichao attended Beihang University, 【小题4】 (major) in spacecraft design and engineering.

Gui then pursued postdoctoral research overseas and published about 20 SCI academic papers in top international journals. After returning to China, he received Beihang’s invitation to teach 【小题5】 an associate professor.

In the spring of 2018, Gui was told that China’s manned space authorities had made a decision 【小题6】   (select) the third group of astronauts, including the first spaceflight engineers and science payloads specialists. “I have been 【小题7】 fan of space exploration for many years and sometimes dreamed about doing my research in space. So excited was I on hearing this news 【小题8】 I signed up without much thought. Eventually I was 【小题9】 (successful) admitted following several demanding rounds of 【小题10】 (profession) tests,” he recalled.

Chinese astronauts on Thursday sent back 【小题1】 science lesson from the country’s under-construction space station. The lecture focused on physics, aiming to illustrate 【小题2】 the weight less environment affects buoyancy (浮力)and the 【小题3】 (move) of objects. These astronauts will be able to unlock Mars’secrets by looking at rocks on Earth.

Students from live cities including Beijing and the semi-autonomous region of Hong Kong, 【小题4】   (ask) the astronauts questions about living conditions in space and were treated to a virtual tour of the station. The event was also open 【小题5】 the public through a live stream.

Wang yaping, the only woman 【小题6】 was aboard the station, served as the main instructor. While Ye Guangfu assisted and the commander-in-chief Zhai Zhigang worked the camera, Wang had taught a similar lesson while aboard one of China’s earlier experimental 【小题7】 (station) in 2013.

Wang last month became the first Chinese woman 【小题8】 (conduct) a spacewalk when she and Zhai spent six hours outside the module to install equipment and carry out tests alongside the station’s robotic service arm. Their Shenzhou-13 mission is China’s 【小题9】 (long) since it first put a human in space in 2003, 【小题10】 (become) the third country to do so alter Russia and the U.S.

On December 9^th, Chinese astronauts, Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping, and Ye Guangfu, 【小题1】(conduct) the science lecture 400 kilometers above Earth, as they orbited in the Tiangong space station.

They showed viewers 【小题2】 they lived and worked inside the space station. In response to 【小题3】 Hong Kong student’ s question about water, Wang said the water they drank was recycled, noting that there was no difference in taste between regular and 【小题4】(recycle ) water. “With a water recycling system, every drop of water 【小题5】(make) full use of” she said.

Wang said the astronauts might look 【小题6】(fat) than they were on earth as the microgravity in space can affect blood circulation. Zhai introduced the 【小题7】(special) designed uniform Ye was wearing during the class. According to Zhai, it is called a “penguin jumpsuit” and it has multiple elastic bands inside to help the astronauts maintain their muscle 【小题8】(strong).

Ye demonstrated experiments related to cell growth in the weightless environment in space, during 【小题9】 he compared the growth and shape of cells in artificial gravity and zero-gravity so as 【小题10】(study) their changing rules and mechanisms.
