It was going to be my first day at Rainbow Middle Schoo1. Everyone else was coming back from winter holiday, but I was going to be new in this schoo1.

After getting out of my mother’s car, I looked around and noticed that kids were gathering around in the hallways with their friends, whispering and giggling. Not knowing anyone and having nowhere to go, I decided to just wait outside until the bell rang.

I was standing outside Mrs. Everett’s classroom, reading a novel named Oliver Twist, when I glanced back to find someone looking over my shoulder. “Are you new here? Anyway, I absolutely love the novel! It’s one of my favorite novels. By the way, I’m Macy!” the girl said.

I was about to answer when the bell cut me off. Shyly, I entered the classroom to find Mrs. Everett smiling and she led me to a seat. Once everyone came in and sat down, Mrs. Everett called me up to the front and introduced me to the class. As I scanned their faces, I noticed that they looked bored and didn’t seem to care about me. I returned to my seat and listened to the teacher for the rest of the class.

The lunch bell rang and I got out of the classroom, checking my backpack for my lunch. Scanning the lunch tables, I was nervously wondering where I should sit when I saw Macy approaching me. “Hey. If you want, you can come and sit with us,” Macy offered as she pointed to a pink table near the classrooms. Feeling happy, I glanced over where she was pointing and followed her over. Suddenly, my shoelace untied at that moment. Then I knocked into Macy and dropped my lunchbox. I said sorry and picked up my lunchbox. With my head low, I was afraid the other girls at the table would laugh at me.

To my surprise, they started comforting me.

After schoo1, I waited for my mother to pick me up at the school gate.

Tovel was a middle school student. He didn’t concentrate in class, so he couldn’t do well in any subject. He was also a weak basketball player, leaving no impression on others. But he loved attention. Knowing that classmates would listen if he had news to share, he went around the class making u stories about other students.

“Tom’s parents are too busy to take care of him, so he doesn’t like the weekends,” Tovel whispered. The students around Toval listened carefully and sighed.

“He has to cook by himself at weekends. And sometimes, he steals vegetables from his neighbor’s garden!” said Tovel. The classmates shook their heads, for they all knew that middle school students must not steal things from others.

“And he even cheated in some weekly exams, expecting good grades and the teachers’ praise,” added Tovel. “No. He couldn’t do that! He was cheating himself and ruining his future,” cried the classmates. They all showed sympathy for Tom, and hoped that he could be honest.

For quite a few days, the classmates were all talking about Tom and his fake news. Some students even chatted with him, showing their sympathy and expressing their expectation, which made Tom annoyed and confused.

Knowing that the stories about Tom had spread quickly and made Tom in trouble, Tovel felt bad about what he had done. Tovel wanted to change the situation and beg Tom’s forgiveness, but he didn’t know what to do. “I am willing to do everything if all will be well again," he thought.

Boys like to be considered to be brave, but what kind of things can be considered to be brave? It is not a question that can be answered by words, but by the actual deed. A boy with the name Henry gave us a good example. Ronny and Henry were two friends in the same class. They and together and went home together. One day as Ronny and Henry were going home after school, they saw some people fighting in the street comer. Ronny said excitedly, “Some people are fighting! Let’s go and have a look!” But Henry refused. “It’s none of our business. We’d better go home and don’t get close to them. Also our parents are expecting to have dinner with us together at home and I don’t want them to worry about me.”

“You are a coward, and afraid to go.” said Ronny, and off he ran to the spot with some other boys. Henry had to go ho alone and didn’t think about it anymore. But Ronny thought Henry was a coward and told all the boys that. They laughed at him a great deal. From then on, they looked down upon Henry and didn’t want to play with him. Henry was sad but he wasn’t angry with Ronny for his rude behavior, because he had learned that true courage was shown most in bearing misunderstanding when it was not deserved, and that he ought to be afraid of nothing but doing wrong. Thus, he just ignored the other boys’ laughter.
