About a month ago I noticed something really amazing, which I must call a garden miracle. It so happened that when I _________ the double doors of a small storage area in the back of my house where I _________ my garden supplies during the long, severe New England winter. I found, in one of the dirt-filled pots, a living plant, topped with two of the most unlikely pink _________ you’ve ever seen.

How was this _________? The unheated space had been closed all winter, and it was still cold outside. Once I caught my breath, I looked around and discovered something approaching a reasonable _________ — there was a small glass window at the top of the double doors, and it was possible that a ray of sun fell _________ on that pot, giving the plant just enough light and warmth to enable it to grow in its own personal greenhouse.

I can’t help feeling _________ at the lessons this wonderful plant has to teach.

For one thing. I am moved by the coincidence of the whole thing. If I had _________ my pot six inches to the left or right of that spot, the plant might not have gotten that _________ ray of light. If I had __________ the roots of the plant in late fall, there would have been nothing but dirt in that pot.

But there’s something else that __________ me about this — just how little right and __________ it took for this plant to grow and flower. I’m not __________ we should be mean with love and kindness we __________ to others and ourselves. But isn’t it comforting to think that just a touch of __________ can brighten a day, a place, a life?

When it comes to positivity, a little goes a long way. Just ask my title miracle plant.

In a small fishing village in Southern Thailand, some boys of Panyee Football Club play football amazingly. They_________, shout, jump and kick like most other football players, but these boys are especially good at_________of the ball because their football field is a raft 筏)in the middle of the sea. Since 2004, the club has_________the Thai Youth Football Championships seven times.

The_________of Panyee FC begins back in 1986. Some of the young boys were watching the World Cup Football Championships on television._________, one of the boys said. “We watch football on TV, but we’ve never played it.” The boys made a_________.

“Our football team starts today. We want to become world_________!” they shouted. But the villagers_________them. “Are you crazy? You don’t have a field! How can you_________?

The boys were__________to make their dream come true. They used__________fishing boats and pieces of wood to make a__________football field. They practised for hours every day, even__________the field was wet. That first year, they__________it to the semi-finals of the__________football competition. They have now played for over twenty-five years and they are one of the best youth football teams in the country.

As a child, I was a loner. I was an only child, and my mother was a single parent_________her son in the 1980s. I grew up pretty isolated(孤零零的),_________from other children. All I had were comic books and a bunch of dolls.

These feelings of isolation and loneliness_________until my teen years. I gradually became a lonely, angry and socially_________teenager. This was all bound to_________, however. As luck, or fate would have it, a kid in my class brought a book to our_________one day and began to show it around to the rest of our classmates._________struck, and I absolutely had to have a look.

The kid brought his brother’ s copy of Dungeons and Dragons Players Handbook and was offering to teach the others_________to play. Looking at the beautiful cover, I was so_________that I asked if I could come over and__________.

The rest as they say is history, and since that day I’ve been gaming on and off and it also changed me a lot.

The__________not only helped me__________the isolation I felt, it also__________me to open up to others, making friends along the way. But that’s not the only thing I__________from playing Dungeons and Dragons. I also picked up a few life__________along the way.
