Mrs. Johnson was an elderly woman who loved nothing more than sitting by the window and watching the world go by. She had lived in the same house for over 50 years and knew almost everyone in the neighborhood. She especially liked the teenagers who lived next door, a group of kids who always seemed to be up to something.

One day, Mrs. Johnson noticed that the kids seemed to be going through a tough time. They were skipping school, getting into trouble, and seemed lost and directionless. Mrs. Johnson knew that something needed to be done to help these kids, so she decided to take action.

The first thing she did was to invite the kids over for cookies and drinks. They were hesitant at first, but Mrs. Johnson’s warm smile and kind words quickly put them at ease. Over the course of the afternoon, she listened carefully as the kids shared their hopes and dreams, their fears and frustrations. She didn’t judge them or lecture them, but simply offered a listening ea r and a shoulder to lean on.

As the weeks went by, Mrs. Johnson continued to reach out to the kids. She would invite them over for dinner or take them on outings to the park, the library, or the movies. She would encourage them to talk about their interests and talents, and help them find their passions, set goals, and pursue their dreams. Mrs. Johnson became a guiding light for the neighborhood kids.

One of the kids, a boy named David, was particularly talented in music. He had a natural gift for playing the guitar and writing songs, but had never been given the chance to pursue his passion. Mrs. Johnson knew that David’s genius for music was too great to go unnoticed, so she took it upon herself to help David find a way to share his talent with the world.

With only a week before Easter knocked on their door, Faith, the eldest daughter, sat at her old sewing machine—a special gift from her late mother aside from her sewing skills. Her father, George, lost his arm in an accident.

“Let’s have a festive dinner, Dad!” she told George. “We haven’t celebrated anything since Mom’s death.”

“Honey, I barely have any money left.”

“But,” he added. “I can buy some groceries to make a big one.”

“Perfect!” Faith screamed.

In the street, no one noticed George carrying the groceries alone with only one arm. One of his shopping bags slipped and he knelt to pick it up, unaware of an SUV rushing toward him. The harm was done before George could act, with groceries scattering everywhere.

Faith turned around after hearing her father scream but couldn’t locate him. When she dashed down the street, she found George in front of the SUV.

The driver was rushing to get to a meeting and didn’t notice George. She stuffed the money in George’s fist and was about to leave. But George refused.

“I maybe poor, but I can’t take it. My father didn’t raise me to become such a man. Have a good Easter. Try to be more empathetic to others if possible!”

The rich woman couldn’t believe it.

“Sorry, Faith. You have to go through Easter without a dinner.” George said.

“Dad, don’t say that,” Faith wrapped her arms around her father and told him not to worry. She had a brilliant idea!

For the next two days, Faith didn’t sleep a wink(整夜未合眼). She sat at her old sewing machine, making new garments(服装) for an online sale. Luckily, everyone loved Faith’s designs.

On Easter morning, Faith got a strange message from a woman named Emma, who was interested in her designs and wanted to meet her. Faith was so delighted and wrote a reply, accepting the meeting.

The next day, Faith got up early, George preparing breakfast. When she heard the sound of tires, she raced to the window and saw a familiar SUV pull up.

As Faith opened the door, followed by George, she found herself face-to-face with a fashion woman she’d never forget.

Emma bought the dress from Faith, and Faith took the money politely.

“Usual boring day!” This would be the answer from John if somebody asked him how his day was. These days he found everything boring, nothing excited him.

One day he was lying in his room as usual. After a while he felt it was rather hot in his room. Though he did not want to leave his room, he had to. Unwillingly, he left his room and came to the living room which was slightly cool as it had two huge windows.

His young brother was playing with his friend. They were rolling on the floor. He was looking out for the TV remote, but couldn't find it. He got up and searched for it everywhere, but the remote was nowhere. He looked at his brother who was still lying on the floor playing. He asked him, “Where is the remote?” “Under the sofa, ” his brother yelled.

He tried to look through, but it was dark. He put his hand under the sofa. He touched something, grabbed it and took his hand out. Oh! It was a snake in his hand!

After seeing that his brother started to cry, “Snake, snake!” Mom came as soon as she heard his shouting. She too was horrified to see a snake. She was so scared that she even couldn't speak a word. Two kids were trying to hide into each other's back. “What an old trick!” Roman thought and threw it to the kids.

As the snake landed on the floor near to the kids, it started moving from the left side to the right. Only then did John realize that the snake was real, not a toy. He threw the snake to the kids because he thought it was a fake snake and the kids were playing some tricks.

This time Mom almost got a heart attack. Now he was scared too. The snake was only 10 meters away from the kids and was staring at the kids. They even couldn't call a rescue team. There might be some deadly damage before their arrival. There was not much time to think. It was the time for a quick action.

As John was farther from the snake, he jumped to the window and grabbed the curtain.

After the rescue team caught and took away the snake, everyone went inside the home.
