2021-2022 Haynes Bridge Middle School Talent Show
Important Information:
Audition（试演）will be held on Friday 10/29, Saturday 10/30, Sunday 10/31.
Dates for rehearsals（排练）and performances:
1st Rehearsal --- Monday, November 15th 4:15-5:45
Dress Rehearsal --- Wednesday, November 17th 4:15-6:00
Talent Show Performance --- Thursday, November 18th at 6:00-7:30
All participants must be available to attend all dates!
Rules & Regulations:
1. Auditions are open to all HBMS students. Students may enter the talent show as a solo act or a group. (Group can be no more than 6 students.)
2. Acts must be no more than 3 minutes in length. An act that runs longer may be selected under the condition that it be cut down to the 3-minute maximum.
3. The show will be about 1.5 hours long. There will be about 25 acts selected, possibly a few more if some run under the 3-minute maximum.
4. Tryouts（选拔赛）are closed to anyone other than students who are auditioning and the judges. This includes relatives, friends, and other students.
5. Students must be in attendance at school in order to participate in an extracurricular activity. This includes all talent show events.
6. Failure to attend your scheduled audition and any of the scheduled rehearsals --- except in the case of illness or extreme emergency --- will result in you being excluded from the show.
7. If the act has been changed from its original audition without permission, or, if it is not well prepared, it will be dropped from the show.

Located in Britain, the University of Oxford is respected internationally as a teaching and research center. Evidence shows that teaching existed in Oxford as early as 1096, and it has been ranked as the top university in the UK by The Times for many times.
The Tutorial (导师的) System
In the University of Oxford, teaching is conducted primarily through the tutorial system. Tutorials are beneficial to students’ skills of critical analysis, but the greatest advantage of the tutorial system is the individual guidance that students receive. The contrast between tutorials and large lectures common in the American universities is obvious. In the typical American university, students are taught by the same specialists, in the same manner, and held to the same standards.
Societies and Clubs
There are rich after-school activities at Oxford. Students may join a variety of clubs and societies according to their own interests. The Oxford University Scientific Society aims to bring together undergraduates to discuss scientific matters. The Oxford Union Society has gained a worldwide reputation for its debate. The Newman Society has served as a model for religious society throughout the English-speaking world. In addition, there are a great many clubs, including Oxford University Cricket Club, Oxford University Chess Club, and so on.

Community clothing repair Time: 3:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m., 6 June 2023 Location: Place Lab, St. Brunswick Bring along clothing in need of fixing for a mending session to launch Community clothing repair series, with the aim of building a local response towards a sustainable fashion system. Capacity for this event is limited to 18. Disclaimer: To give all students the opportunity to join our events, each person can only sign up for a maximum of 2 events each month. Offered at LA school, the Four-Week Documentary Camp is designed to provide high school students with a hands-on introduction to documentary filmmaking. Students are involved in the creative and technical demands of making a documentary while gaining experience working with industry-standard equipment on original projects that apply what students learn in the camp to original video content. |

Whether you’re interested in learning how to create an original 3D animated short film or simulate (模仿) realistic visual effects, NYFA’s Three-Week and Four-Week 3D Animation Camps, offered at Harvard University and our NYC and LA school, provide students with professional instructions to give them a strong footing in the field. Students can choose 3D Animation Summer Camps and spend their summer bringing their imagination to life. |
