I believe in miracles（奇迹）because I’ve seen so many of them. One day, a patient was referred to me who was one hundred and two years old. “There’s a________,”she said. “I told my own dentist it’s nothing, but he________I come to see you”.

Her eighty-year-old son accompanied her. He would________to add something,but she stopped him. She wanted to tell everything herself. I found a large cancer that spread over much of the________of her mouth. A careful examination later________that it was a particularly bad sort of cancer.

During her next appointment, I explained to her the________of the problem. She clasped my hand in hers and said，“I know you’re worried about me，but I’m just________. ”

I thought otherwise. After considerable________on my part, and kindness on her part because she wanted to________me, she agreed to have me refer her to a cancer surgeon. She saw him, but as I expected, ________treatment.

About six months later she returned to my office, still energetic and________.

“How are you?” I asked.

“I’m just fine，honey,”she responded________high spirits. “When can I get started on fixing my dentures（假牙）?”

Surprised to see her at all，I answered________,“Let me take a look in your mouth and we’ll see about it. ”

I couldn’t believe my eyes. The cancer that had________nearly the entire roof of her mouth was gone—only one small area of redness________.

I had read of such things happening，but had________seen them with my own eyes. That was my first miracle. Since then I’ve seen many others，because they keep getting________to see. In fact，miracles are daily events for me now. And people are a miracle, ________through them we have a chance to know ourselves and to________the miracles of one another.

Since my first miracle，I’ve come to understand that the time and place for a miracle is________we choose to find it.

About six years ago I started having panic attacks (恐慌症). I began my journey to _______ them with traditional tools, all of which were a great help. ________, a year later treatment was no longer needed.

Frustratingly, about a year after that, I started to develop ________ and began to have panic attacks once again. I tried what I knew best and went back to my previous _______, but I was still struggling and far from feeling well again ________ I got some new advice.

I loved to sing when I was young. My childhood had been ________ with creativity, yet for most of my adult life it was neglected. A therapist told me that mental health issues are common among the ________ minds of the world when creativity is suppressed (压制) . To regain it, I decided to get back into ________. Then I joined a group called Sound, a pop choir. Much better, I found the ________ to audition (试音). I was amazed that I managed to ________ such a risky situation and not have a panic attack. The audition itself was a win for me, never mind how I did.

I have now been a ________ of the choir for three years. I love the community and the performances. It ________ me of who I was at school. My path back then was always “do what you love”. My entire ________ was filled with fond memories because of that, and I was starting to build that back into my adult life.

Now, I am feeling a lot better. When I am ________, distraction (分散注意力) is key and singing does ________ . It sends me into a state in which my body works with pure passion and joy. More importantly, I will have exercised my creativity and relieved my anxiety.

A teacher in a primary school is doing a science lesson. She asks all the children to do a/an ________ of their own choosing. After the children have been ________ for a few minutes, she gets to the desk of little Johnny. Johnny has a/an ________ on his desk and she asks what he is doing.

“Well, Miss, the spider’s name is Herbert and ________ this,” Johnny says. Then he ________ down to the spider and whispers(低语), “Run, Herbert!” And the spider, as if by magic, moves across the desk. The teacher is a little puzzled. Johnny then takes the spider and ________ one leg. The teacher is ________ but lets the experiment continue. Johnny again whispers, “Run, Herbert!” And the spider moves across the desk again. Johnny then ________ the spider and removes another 2 legs and ________ the experiment. By this time the teacher is getting a little ________.

The experiment ________ in the same way until Herbert, the spider, has one leg left. The teacher at this point is ________ dumbfounded(目瞪口呆). Johnny then bends down to the spider and removes the ________ leg. Again he whispers, “Run, Herbert!” But Herbert doesn’t ________. He repeats the ________ but a little bit louder. After several attempts(尝试), Johnny is now ________, “Run, Herbert!” But still no movement. Johnny then looks at the ________ and she asks, “Well, a ________ experiment, but what are you trying to ________ with it?” Johnny replies, “Well, Miss, spiders with no ________ are deaf.”
