My first life began in November,1904.I was happy and in excellent health. Then I got married and became the father of two lovely girls. I had a good job and a beautiful home.Life was a pleasant dream.

The dream ended suddenly. Then began my second life.

I suffered from a rare disease that affected my motor abilities, first my right arm and leg, then the whole body. Every day after work I climbed up the 14 steps leading up from the garage to the kitchen door, lifting one foot up one step and then dragging the other painfully after it. Repeating the process 14 times was a huge effort for me.As time passed, I became more upset.I wondered why I had been chosen to suffer.

Then on a dark night in August, 1971, I began my third life. Raindrops were beating down hard on the car when I drove slowly down one of the less-traveled roads .Suddenly the wheel(方 向盘)jumped in my hands as one of the tires burst with a bang . I fought the car to a stop and sat there as the terrible nature of the situation swept over me.It was impossible for me to change that tire! Absolutely impossible!

A thought that a passing motorist might stop was deserted at once. Why should anyone?I knew I wouldn’t! Then I remembered that a short distance up a little side road was a house.I started the engine and drove slowly along until I came to the house. Lighted windows welcomed me as I pulled into the driveway and sounded the horn(喇叭) .

The door opened and a little girl stood there, looking at me. I rolled down the window and called out that I had a flat tire and needed someone to change it for me because I had a crutch (拐杖) and couldn’t do it myself.

On cold evenings, they would laugh together as they added spices to a hearty stew, the steam making the kitchen windows foggy and turning it into a warm, comfortable place.

However, this bond was broken when her mother passed away. The kitchen, once filled with warmth, the smell of spices and the sound of laughter, turned into a place that just reminded Ella of her mom and made her very sad. She avoided the recipe books, as they brought back memories of their cooking sessions- like the time they accidentally used salt instead of sugar in cookies, but ended up laughing it off and making it once again together. With her mom gone, the joy of cooking faded, leaving Ella with a heart heavy with loss.

Months turned into years, and Ella’s interest in cooking faded into a distant memory. But life had other plans for her. One day, Ella came across a volunteer group that attended to seniors in her community. Moved by their dedication, she decided to join them.

As Ella spent more time with the seniors, she noticed their longing for home-cooked meals.

Ella finally found herself on the path to recovery and rediscovery.

Once upon a time, in a remote village, there lived two friends, Jack and Tom. They were inseparable, sharing every joy and sorrow, and always ready to start up new adventures together.

One day, they heard stories of a hidden treasure buried deep in the forbidden forest. Motivated, they decided to start up a search to find the treasure and make their fortune. Equipped with only a map, a compass, and their courage, Jack and Tom entered into the dense and dangerous forest. The trees towered overhead, blocking out the sun, and the undergrowth was thick and messy. They had to crawl and climb their way through, facing all sorts of barriers and creatures.

As they dug deeper into the forest, they encountered a fierce wolf that bared its teeth at them. They managed to escape by climbing a tall tree, but not before the wolf had torn their bag-pack to pieces, leaving them with only the essentials.

Determined and fearless, they pushed their way onward, following the clues on the map. They crossed swamps (湿地) and scaled cliffs, despite hunger and thirst. Their feet were bleeding and their clothes torn, but their spirits were high and their determination unshakable.

Finally, after days of hardship and danger, they hit on a clearing in the forest. In the center stood an ancient stone altar (祭坛), and beside it, a chest (箱子) that glowed with a mysterious light. They knew they had found the treasure.

But as they approached the chest, they heard a deep sound from the earth beneath their feet.

Finally, the two friends realized that the true treasure of their journey was not the gold and jewels.
