I went to the Changtang National Nature Reserve to observe Tibetan antelopes, which live on the 【小题1】 (plain) of Tibet, Xinjiang, and Qinghai. 【小题2】 (watch) them move slowly across the green grass, I'm struck by their beauty. However, they are being hunted, 【小题3】(illegal), for their valuable fur. The reserve is【小题4】   shelter for the animals and plants of northwestern Tibet.

The 1980s and 1990s were bad times for the Tibetan antelope. The population 【小题5】(drop) by more than 50 percent. In order to save this species from 【小题6】 (extinct) , the Chinese government placed it under national protection. The measures were 【小题7】 (effect). The antelope population has recovered. The government, however, does not intend to stop the protection programmes, 【小题8】     the threats to the Tibetan antelope have not yet disappeared.

Much is being done 【小题9】 (protect) wildlife. Only when we learn to exist in harmony 【小题10】 nature can we stop being a threat to wildlife and to our planet.

Every animal species has its own features. Some animals have the power to run 【小题1】 (fast) than sports cars, while others move very slowly.

But the slowest animal in the world is not the turtle, as we may think. It is the three-toed sloth(三趾树懒), 【小题2】lives in the rainforests of South America.

Sloths can be 60 to 80 centimeters long and 【小题3】 (weigh) about eight kilograms. It takes them about one minute 【小题4】 (climb) only 1.8 to 2.4 meters. They sleep for more than 20 hours every day, staying in the trees most of the time. They come down from the trees to defecate (排便) just once a week. This is the most dangerous time for sloths , as they might 【小题5】 (attack) by their enemies, such as big cats.

Sloths may be slow climbers, but they are speedy 【小题6】 (swim). They can 【小题7】 (natural) float on the water. Since there are always floods in rainforests, the ability to swim is necessary to 【小题8】 (they) survival.

People might not be familiar with sloths before. It was because 【小题9】the 2016 Disney film Zootopia that we began to be interested in this animal species. Its lovely image has left a deep 【小题10】 (impress) on almost every moviegoer.

Sharks are often thought of as hunters living alone, however, a new study has found that some species create social networks and【小题1】(connection) that can last for years.【小题2】the study shows is that some sharks form groups of between two and fourteen. These groups gather in the morning in the same part of the reef. At night, the sharks leave the reef on their own but they come back together again the next day. The study also【小题3】(note) that many groups stay together for the whole process.
