In many countries today, laws protect wildlife. In India, the need for such protection 【小题1】 (realize) centuries ago. If we don’t take 【小题9】 (measure) to protect wildlife, some day our children will see no living creatures except 【小题10】 (they).

Although Old Tom and the other killers were fierce hunters, they never harmed 【小题1】 attacked people. In fact,they protected them．There was one day when we were out in the bay during a hunt and James 【小题2】(wash) off the boat.''Man overboard! Turn the boat around!''urged George，【小题3】 (shout) loudly.

The sea was rough that day and it was difficult 【小题4】( handle) the boat.The waves were carrying James further and further away from us. From James's face, I could see he was 【小题5】(terrify)of being abandoned by us. Then suddenly I saw a shark. ''Look，there's a shark out there,''I screamed.''Don't worry. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Ecuador may have a new tourism jingle(短歌). But they don’t want anyone to 【小题1】(actual)sing it. Indeed, the country’s latest national park is built on the belief 【小题2】 silence is golden. The South American country has become the first in the world 【小题3】(build)a “quiet park,” beside the Zabalo River.

Named as Wilderness Quiet Park, the land 【小题4】(own)by the Cofan people of Ecuador. But hopes are high that this unique space in a world increasingly 【小题5】(affect)by noise will kick-start tourism in the region— quiet tourism, that is.

These days, it’s almost impossible to escape the human noise. And it has a serious effect 【小题6】 the health of animals, including humans.

“Science has made it clear that noise pollution is not just an 【小题7】(annoy), it causes health loss and dramatically impacts wildlife’s ability to survive. By 【小题8】(recognize) the Zabalo River as the world’s first Quiet Park, we are paving the way for many more Quiet Parks around the globe.” says Gordon Hempton, an ecologist and co-founder of Quiet Parks.

But the park not only gives nature a chance to find 【小题9】(it) voice. The people who own the land—the Cofán—have long counted themselves as caretakers of the rivers and rainforests in the region but their numbers 【小题10】(decrease) to fewer than 2000 so far.
