I’m 62 now and always planned to _________ with older people when I retired. There was such a big gap in the care and support this generation receives and I found the thought heartbreaking —no one should have to feel lonely and _________ at home.

I started volunteering three years ago. My team of volunteers have _________ seven groups in our town. We host tea parties for those aged 75 and older who live on their own and _________ provide support, friendship and companionship for the most isolated (孤独的) older people in the _________.

NEST4US, a charity organization, was born when 17-year-old Amanda realized how much food waste there is, how many _________ people there are, and how simple it would be to use the food waste to help the people in need. “There was a _________ man standing on a corner and he was holding a _________ that said “Hungry Need Food,” she remembers. “So I gave him my _________. It was so _________, it only took me 30 seconds, and it really _________ him.”

Hunger is just one of the many serious problems of living on the streets. But the ease of this small act _________ her to find a way to get food to the people who need it the most. She didn’t think too much about it and decided to just _________.

How would she _________ this huge task? Many kids have difficulty talking on the phone but talking to strangers is not a problem for Amanda, who says she emails, calls, and __________ to business owners to ask for money. From there, she and other volunteers __________ enough food.

In the past 15 years, Chad Pregracke has helped pull more than 67,000 tires from the Misssppi river and other waterways._________ that's just scratching the surface. He's also helped_________218 washing machines, 19 tractors, 12 bathtubs, 4 pianos and almost 1,000 refrigerators. For Pregracke, removing the_________has become his life's work called "The Rivers' Garbageman, he lives on a boat with his 12 crew".
