Taking IT and AI to the people

Putting aside employment prospects (就业前景)and the expectations of my parents, the major I’d most like to study is computer science.

【小题1】First, I have been interested in computers since 1 was a child. I like playing games and drawing and editing pictures using computer software, so I think that a computer science major would allow me to build on this interest. Second, I have found that I turn to the internet when I have a problem that people around me can’t help with. It’s a goldmine (宝库)of answers.

【小题2】We use the net to shop, chat with friends who live far away, and book tickets and hotel rooms when we travel. The net is so wonderfully convenient that 1 doubt that modern life would be possible without it.

If I do study computer science and internet technology as my major, after college I want to develop artificial intelligence products. They would add convenience to life. 【小题3】 They can facilitate our communication so that society can meet people’s demand for higher living standards.

If I could, I’d even like to develop my own games. 【小题4】

However, it’s not easy to qualify for the world of IT. 【小题5】 Nevertheless, I am going to put in every effort to achieve the high standard that is required. I firmly believe that one day my dream will be fulfilled

At heart, parents always wish the best for their children, and they work hard for that. Nowadays, we see parents deciding the schools for their little ones before the baby is even born. Once kids start going to school, some parents want to have a time-to-time update of their kid's activities. They want to come to the classroom every day, keep an eye on whom they talk to, know the friends they keep, start telling them how to do their job, and keep talking or giving a feedback(反馈) to them about everything under the sun. Besides, they send their kids for extra hobby classes, as they want their children to do best in every field.

When it comes to the education, super mom and dad have all the plans made for their children, and I am sure that they have come up with the best. So, try to fight for the dreams that your parents have set for you. However, in some cases, it may happen that the kids have some different dreams. Parents sometimes don't even consider the choice of their kids and may force them to do what they wanted to do in life. It's good to plan the future for the children, but leave at least some decisions to them.

So what should the children do? First, hear out all the plans that your parents have made for you. If you have some different ideas, then sit down and talk to your family about it. Be patient and respect their decisions, but put your plan forth, and make them understand what you want to do and why. Many times, you are not aware of the difficulties that you may have to face while pursuing your dreams. Ask your parents for suggestions, which will make them feel good and involved. That way, they may support you if you are going on the right path.

When your baby get older, you’re faced with the most challenging problem of all: How to get him or her best education you can.

“There was a time when you could enroll your child in kindergarten and about 13 years sit on one of those folding chairs and touch your eyes as they graduated from high school，” Peg Tyre says.

These days the difficult decision of where to send your kid to school starts early.You have to choose a school when your child might only be three or four years old.When you go on a school tour, Tyre says, don’t judge the place just by the finger paintings decorating the hallways.

“You want to look at the relationship between teacher and student，” she says.”What you want to see is teachers who have a lot of respect for kids, who seem to know their strengths and weaknesses.”

There’s a myth Tyre wants to say that has to end that all teachers are good teachers and can be moved around from classroom to classroom like bricks.

“That’s just not true，” she says.”One of the things I would say is a teacher who is in their first year is not a wonderful sign for an effective teacher for your child.They tend to be kind, they have a lot of energy, but they are not that effective in that first year.” So what do you do if your child is placed in a classroom with an inexperienced teacher? Don’t march straight to the principal’s office and demand a change, Tyre says.

“You can go to the principal and you can ask this question: What are you doing to support that teacher this year so that my child moves forward this year and is not just a guinea pig (实验对象) for your first­year teacher？”

Many parents know when they tour a school to ask about class size.But Tyre says the research doesn’t suggest that a smaller class size is a must.”When you look at the really research on class size, class size is very important from kindergarten to third grade ...After third grade there’s less of an effect on academic result.” she says.
