Adam is a freshman at senior high school. 【小题1】 (go) from junior high school to senior high school is 【小题2】 really big challenge to him. So he felt a little 【小题3】 (confuse) at first.

First, he had to choose the suitable courses. 【小题4】 (lucky), his adviser helped him 【小题5】 recommended that he should sign up for advanced literature.

He had to choose extra-curricular activities, too. To his 【小题6】 (disappoint), when he tried to join the school football team, the coach refused him. However, he didn’t lose hope. He’ll find a way 【小题7】 (improve) by himself so that he can join the team next year.

He knows he’ll have to study 【小题8】 (hard) as a senior high school student and get used to being responsible 【小题9】 a lot. He’ll be well prepared for university or whatever else 【小题10】 (come) in the future.

My time here in China is going well. I love my new school 【小题1】 classmates. Over the October holiday, my parents and I are planning to go to Xi’an to see the Terracotta Army. I’ve heard that it is an【小题2】(amaze) sight, and I can’t wait to go. To me, the story of the Terracotta Army is almost unbelievable. It’s amazing that there are more than 8,000 【小题3】 (statue), and no one in modern times knew about 【小题4】 (they) until the1970s.

We’re also planning to visit several other places in Xi’an. My dad and I are both looking forward to【小题5】 (go) to the Shaanxi History Museum, because my dad loves history and I have heard that this museum is known【小题6】a “Chinese treasure house”！We’re also going to the Xi’an City Wall and a few other famous 【小题7】 (sight).

We’re taking the train，【小题8】(leave)the day before the October holiday begins. We’re arriving at 9:30 a.m. and will start sightseeing right away, so I hope we sleep well on 【小题9】train!

Today I will introduce some new teachers in our class. Mrs Li is my English teacher. My first 【小题1】(impress) of her was that she   【小题2】 (be) nervous and shy. But now, I find she’s kind, teaches 【小题3】(careful), and explains grammar clearly. I’ve always hated making mistakes or   【小题4】(pronounce) a word incorrectly when I speak English, but when I make mistakes, she just smiles, 【小题5】 makes me feel easy. With her help, I’ve learnt many useful 【小题6】 (way) for learning English.

Mr Chen is 【小题7】   experienced physics teacher, but he looks very serious. All of us are afraid of him, and no one dares to be late for lessons. Some of our classmates don’t like him, 【小题8】 most of us really appreciate him because his teaching is so well 【小题9】 (organize) and clear. I believe I’ll do well in the exam with Mr Chen teaching me.

Another teacher I will mention is Mr Wang. He teaches us Chinese. He is popular among us because he really enjoys teaching Chinese literature. He has many ways to arouse 【小题10】 (we) interest in studying.
