Daming is my best friend. On a afternoon Daming and I was playing basketball one on one. The game was fierce. When jumping up catch the ball, I saw an arm above his face. Daming's arm came down hard, right into my left eye as he got the ball. It hurts terribly. He kept apologizing while I found myself laughing through the pain. I spent the next few days walked around with a black eye. For months afterwards I got a laugh whatever I told the story and gentle joked with Daming about that incident. I think when an unhappy thing happens to us in life, and it is best to handle it with laughters and forgiveness.

As an old Chinese saying went: A bosom friend (知己) is very hard to get in life. Indeed, while we may meet many people in our lifetime, the number of really friends we make is usually very small. And, why is that?

According to Science Daily, a persons friendships are determined by an amount of time and effort they devoted to them.

People, on average, form a very close relationship with three to five people, frequently interacting with 30 to 35 people, and know the names of around 100 people. In other words, we “interact at a regular basis with about 150 people”, reported Science Alert.

“It is not impossible to have relationships with 150 people and for them all to be intimate (亲密的). Therefore because one has a large number of relationship, it may mean that they are almost all superficial (浅薄的).” Ignacio Tamariti, lead author of the study, told Science Daily.

Last year I went to seaside to spend my summer holiday with my family. We stay there for about two weeks. The weather was much more hotter than that in my hometown, but I got used to it. Every morning, I got up early but went for a breakfast ahead of time. Then I went to the beach and talked with John, that was my new friend and I came across him in my first morning there. John was warm-hearted and she seemed to be very familiarly with the seaside village. Soon we became very good friend. We have kept write to each other ever since then.
