As an old saying goes, “Friends are like wine, the 【小题1】 (old), the better.” Many people consider old friends to be more important than new 【小题2】 (one). For example, if two pieces of advice 【小题3】 (give) to solve a problem, one from a new friend and the other from 【小题4】 old friend, people would prefer the latter one to the former one, even though the new friend’s advice may be better. Once you call someone a friend, he must be a person who is reliable and whose interests are in common with 【小题7】 (you). It is mainly his character and interests that make him your friend. Therefore, on this point, 【小题10】 is no difference between old friends and new friends.

Some people call you their friends for the wrong reasons. These people are not really friends. They are superficial (表面的) only “friends”on the outside, not the inside where it counts. Superficial friends only want to be your friends if is to their advantage. True friends are there if you are rich or poor.【小题7】 is easy to have many so-called “friends” if you are rich. By this time you should be able to separate your friends into the real or the “phoney”.

True friends are most special. They are also difficult【小题8】(find). You can consider yourself very 【小题9】(fortune) if you have one true friend. This friend is eager to help you whenever necessary. He or she knows you would do the same for them. A true friend is someone you can talk to about any subject or problem. You and your true friend have good understanding of each other. True friends give you a great deal of【小题10】 (encourage), take your side, and build up your confidence.

How is everything going with you? I’ve returned back to Shanghai tiredly but happy. I can’t thank you enough for all the kindness you offered during my stay in New Zealand.

When I first go there, I found hard to use English properly. It was you who always help me with patient. Now I have made such great progress that I can speak English more fluently. I even have a large vocabulary than before. I am not scared of English any more.

When I was homesick, you kept me company, chatting, playing games or showed me around the scenic spots. You made me felt as if I was one of your family members. There are so much wonderful memories fresh in my mind.
