Adam is a freshman at senior high school. Twelve years, two months, and 28 days. That’s how long I’ve been 【小题1】 to the polos and plaid skirts of the uniform. Though most teen girls frown (皱眉) at the 【小题2】 of uniforms, at my high school, Carondelet High School in California, many students change their uniforms to suit their own style.

Uniform rules have always been 【小题3】. The restrictions are down to the inch: Gray or plaid skirts must be no shorter than two inches above the knee and only white, blue, black, and gray sneakers or flats are 【小题4】 . With all these rules, one can’t help but wonder how the typical rebellious teenager can express her 【小题5】 .

Still, they manage. Senior Michelle Ferrer says she accessorizes by wearing bright colors like green and pink in bracelets, shoe laces, and headbands to stand out and be fashionable. For any stylish Carondelet student, accessories are 【小题6】.

At Carondelet, one thing’s for sure: The older a student gets, the more she’s 【小题7】 to bend the rules. Senior Natalia Piwek admits that she often 【小题8】 her “tights and colorful socks” with “illegal shoes”. If you happen to see a girl with colorful tights or boots running across the hallway, it’s most likely that she’s running from a dean (院长).

In about two months, I will say goodbye to my uniform. I will miss the 【小题9】 of wearing it. However, I must say, wearing a uniform has taught mean important 【小题10】 that I will take with me when I go off to college: It doesn’t matter what you wear, but how you wear it.

My first day at senior high finally arrived after I 【小题1】 it over and over again in my mind. The campus was still quiet when I arrived, so I decided 【小题2】a bit. I was looking at the photos on the noticeboard when I heard a voice behind me. When I turned around, I saw a white-haired man. I told him that I wondered what life would be like in this new school. He told me I would soon find out. In the English class, I was 【小题3】to find that the white-haired man turned out to be my English teacher. We were asked to give a self-introduction but I didn’t know what to say to leave a good 【小题4】. Maybe I would say I liked 【小题5】 insects. When it was my turn, I 【小题6】 and then introduced my name. But everyone started to laugh and I 【小题7】. After that, Mr. Meng said a few words, which made me a lot more relaxed. He even told us challenges and 【小题8】 like this were quite common at senior high. But 【小题9】 and getting prepared could help us to make good use of the time here.

“Well begun, half done.” I think this was a good 【小题10】 to my new school life.
