Adam is a freshman at senior high school. For him, senior high school is a big challenge. Many things in the first week made him 【小题1】(confuse).

First, he couldn’t decide 【小题2】(choose)which courses. With the help of the school adviser, he chose suitable ones for him. He thinks, Chinese is very difficult, but he hopes to speak Chinese 【小题3】(fluent) when he graduates, Because he is good at English, he 【小题4】(recommend) by the adviser to sign up for advanced literature.

He was determined to practise more and believed he could join the team next year. Instead, he joined a volunteer club. He always takes 【小题7】active part to help those in need.

As a freshman, he has difficulty in getting 【小题8】(use) to the senior high school life. He is also worried about 【小题9】(fall) behind others in his advanced course. Still, he is very happy and he believes he will be well prepared 【小题10】university and whatever else comes in the future.

I have a warm story to share with you. A school in San Francisco not only accepted a deaf student, but also【小题1】(teach) the entire class sign language to allow them to better communicate with him. The moving story began in September last year when a woman asked the primary school in her neighborhood【小题2】(accept) her six-year-old son, James, 【小题3】had a hearing disability. The teacher, Lily, agreed almost immediately,【小题4】on the first day of school, she noticed James sitting all【小题5】 himself, unable to communicate with any of his classmates.【小题6】(determine) to find a way out, Lily tried developing a few signs of 【小题7】(she) own. But a parent of another child came up with【小题8】even better idea — getting the whole class to learn sign language along with James. So they got a sign language teacher on board, and three months later, James was able to communicate 【小题9】(happy) with all his classmates about regular things like homework and【小题10】(game). He was no longer sitting alone from then on.

I love my campus very much. It has a lot of buildings traditional in Chinese style but modern in equipment. Having classes in them always 【小题1】 (make) me feel excited with the busy world and relaxed about the long history of our nation. Out of the houses are beautiful gardens 【小题2】 (surround) by trees. In the morning, we read aloud by the lake or behind the hill. The air is so fresh and sweet that very often I think how 【小题3】 (luck) I am to study in such a beautiful campus.
