Life can change in the blink of an eye. For Bridgette Ponson, one of those _________ took place in the parking lot of her workplace, Layton Christian Academy. While she was in the parking lot with her 2-year-old boy and 3-year-old girl, a car _________ them. This left the mother and her kids _________ beneath the car.

_________, the driver wasn’t going very fast when she hit them. At that moment, she was blinded by the sun — this is the suspected _________ of the accident. However, as soon as she _________ what had happened, she jumped out of the car to help. Plus, she wasn’t the only one who came to _________ Bridgette and her kids.

Soon, Chris Crowder, CEO of the school, became _________ of the accident. Without _________, he rallied (召集) together a group of students to help.

“It was a split second,” Chris recalls. “I immediately just ran into the classroom building because I knew I had to get a lot of people to lift this car. We have about 220 __________ kids and over 300 international kids at the school. They just __________ me shout. All these kids from different countries just came __________ out and lifted it up.”

A whole group of kids could be seen working together to lift the car enough for Mom and her kids to get __________. The 2-year-old was flown to Primary Children’s Hospital while the 3-year-old and Mom were taken by ambulance to the hospital. Although Bridgette and her kids suffered from __________, all three of them are __________ to make complete recoveries.

A Heroic Driver

Larry works with Transport Drivers,   Inc.   One morning in 2009, Larry was ______along 165 north after delivering to one of his _______. Suddenly, he saw a car with its bright lights on. _______ he got closer, he found ____ vehicle upside down on the road. One more look and he noticed _______ shooting out from under the _______ vehicle. Larry pulled over, set the brake and _______the fire extinguisher (灭火器). Two good bursts from the extinguisher and the fire was put out.

The man who had his bright lights on _______ and told Larry he had _______ an emergency call. They ________ heard a woman’s voice coming from the wrecked (毁坏的) vehicle. ________the vehicle, they saw that a woman was trying to get out of the broken window. They told her to stay ________ until the emergency personnel arrived, ________ she thought the car was going to ________. Larry told her that he had already put out the fire and she should not move ________ she injured her neck.

Once fire and emergency people arrived, Larry and the other man ________ and let them go to work. Then, Larry asked the ________ if he was needed or ________ to go. They let him and the other man go.

One thing is ________—Larry went above and beyond the call of duty by getting so close to the burning vehicle! His ________ most likely saved the woman’s life.

Recently, as I neared the top of a difficult 35 foot climb at the local climbing gym, I made a dynamic move to reach the last hold. My right hand _________ the small, awkwardly placed hold, but I couldn’t _________, and my body fell away from the wall. Falls like this happen all the time. The rope catches you, and you rest in the air before getting back to try the _________ again.
