How to Look at Shape

Take a seat at the virtual(虚拟的) table. At our new, monthly membership program, you'll join MoMA staff and fellow members for lively discussions about our collection and exhibitions. Ask questions, share your thoughts, and broaden the mind. A live Q&A, with Michelle Kuo and Anny Aviram, about shape and its role in MoMA's collection is also arranged.


Draw, Write, and Connect with Others

Experiment with drawing and writing exercises as ways to connect with others, even when physically distant, in this 45-minute online workshop. This workshop is part of the Creativity Lab at Home plan. This session is led by Francis Estrada, Assistant Educator, and Hannah Fagin, Coordinator. Ifs open to anyone, but registration is limited and space is available on a first-come, first-served basis.


Storytelling Through Art

There are many ways to tell a story — through words, through theater and dance, or through visual art, for example. Discover how artist Jacob Lawrence shared the history of an important event by combining words and art in a series of paintings called The Migration Series. For kids ages seven to fourteen. Parent participation is encouraged in this online event. Don' miss the opportunity to spend meaningful time with them.


The Human Shelter

In 2016, MoMA opened Insecurities: Tracing Displacement and Shelter, an exhibition that examined how contemporary architecture arid design addressed ideas of shelter in light of global refugee(难民) emergencies. Danish Boris Benjamin Bertram documented the exhibition, and the result is a movie by him asking what makes a home, and, perhaps more importantly, when shelter becomes home. This online event is part of Member events.

Ask a Ranger

Length: 0.5-1 hour

It provides an opportunity for your classroom to interact with a park ranger(护林员)through a live and interactive lesson via the Internet. Students can discuss with the ranger the ecology, geology, and human history, as well as life and work in the national park.

Different Media Drama Blithe Spirit

Date: April 14-15-7:30 pm

Venue: Beijing Comedy Theater

Blithe Spirit is adapted from the classical fashion comedy Blithe Spirit originated by British playwright Noel Coward. The socialite and novelist Charles Condomine and his wife Ruth hold a small-scale family feast at home to gather material for his next book and amuse all guests. He arranges for an eccentric medium Madame Arcati to hold a seance. Madame Arcati inadvertently summons Charles Condomine's first wife, Elvira, who has been dead. Elvira still obsesses over Charles. Consequently, the current wife and ex-wife fight for his favor in a storm of jealousy, followed by the subsequent heavyweight plot. The ridiculous farce makes the audiences laugh in tears, with a hint of disappointment.

Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra

Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2009 on the base of Zhejiang Song and Dance Theater Orchestra with a history of some 60 years. It presents Western classic works. Zhejiang Yueju Opera Troupe A Traveler's Song

"With the thread in her hand, the loving mother makes clothes for her son, who then travels far away from home …" The above quote comes from a famous verse from A Traveler's Song, a poem composed by Meng Jiao, a great poet in the Tang Dynasty, over one thousand years ago. The verse depicts a mother's vivid image. And just like most mothers in our world, Meng's mother, who inherited good family virtues, worked hard all her life and fashioned Meng into a talented person. The newly-produced Yueju Opera A Traveler's Song, based on the popular verse, depicts the image of mothers all over the world who have endured so many kinds of hardships and have labored much during their lives. As ordinary persons, they have experienced the ups and downs of life, including both pleasure and pain, growing up with their children while living in harmony with and quarreling against them as well. They are great on account of being so ordinary.

Soul in the Shell-Film Special Effects & New Media Art Exhibition in Shanghai
