Strange things happened before Tangshan earthquake happened.The well walls had deep cracks. Some 【小题1】 (smell) gas came out of them. Chickens and even pigs were too nervous to eat. At 3：42 【小题2】 the morning of July 28, 1976, everything began to shake. 【小题3】 seemed as if the world were coming to an end！A huge crack cut across houses, roads, and waterways. Hard hills of rock became rivers of 【小题4】 (dirty). Soon the whole city lay in 【小题5】 (ruin). Many people died or were 【小题6】 (injure). Everything in the city was destroyed. People were【小题7】 (shock) at this and wondered how long the disaster would last. The army sent soldiers to dig out those 【小题8】 were trapped and to bury the dead. Workers built shelters for 【小题9】 (survive). Water and food were taken to the city. Slowly the city began to 【小题10】 (breath) again. Tangshan city has proved that in times of disaster, people must unify and show the wisdom to stay positive and rebuild for a brighter future.
