Mary will never forget the first time she saw him. He suddenly appeared in class one day, 【小题1】 (wear) sunglasses. He walked in as if he had bought the school. And the word 【小题2】(quick) got around that he was from New York City.

“Do you need those glasses for medical reasons?” the teacher asked. The new boy shook his head. “Then I’d appreciate it if you didn’t wear them in class. I like to look at your eyes when I’m speaking to you.” The new boy looked at the teacher 【小题8】 a few seconds and all the other students wondered 【小题9】 the boy would do. Then he took 【小题10】 off, gave a big smile and said “That is cool”.

It was my first class as a new teacher. A little girl, 【小题1】 looked very shy, was standing at the gate of the classroom.

I walked up to her and asked what was wrong with her, 【小题2】 she said nothing. Then a boy shouted, “She is from Grade Four and is the 【小题3】(bad) student in her grade.” I understood why her teacher asked her to stay in Grade Three. 【小题4】(take) her hand, I led the girl into the classroom.

I later learned that her parents died 【小题5】(accidental). She became sad and didn’t like talking to others after that. She learned very slowly, but I gave her respect and never looked down upon her. I helped her after school, and she was making progress little by little. 【小题6】 time went by, she was not as shy as before. When she left school, she seemed to have forgotten all her 【小题7】(sad).

In the following 【小题8】(year), she would send me a card on each Thanksgiving Day. Three days ago, I received an 【小题9】(invite) to her wedding. And now, I am at her wedding, and she is smiling brightly.

The new students will get their schedules and find out【小题8】 their classrooms are. They also will learn what facilities they can use, the history of the school and some relevant information. Another big thing is that the new students【小题9】 (learn) about the school policies and the rules. School teachers and【小题10】 (volunteer) will be happy to answer the questions raised by the students. Besides, schools may provide students a meal and there may possibly be fun events for them to enjoy as well.
