One day, I was doing my homework in the bedroom. All of sudden, the light went out, leaving me in totally darkness. My mother came in with a candle. When I light the candle, the bedroom was brightened at once. I looked at the candle and was lost in thoughts. It is very small, and it isn’t worth many. But what it gives us are great. It brightens the way of many scientist; it brightens the desks of my teachers; it also brightens my mind. I think I should learn with the candle. Small as it is, but it tries its best to giving us light and heat.

Yesterday afternoon, our school held on a fire drill. We were listening the teacher carefully in the English class when we heard the fire alarm. The teacher told us to calm down and instruct us to leave a classroom in order immediately. When we got into the passage, we found they were surrounded by smoke. It was becoming difficult to breathe but to find the way out. Finally, with our mouths covering with wet towels, we bent down and got out of the teaching building so quickly as possible. Through the fire drill I now realize what dangerous it is when there is a fire and that we should know how to escape from a fire on case of emergency.

When I was seven-years-old, my family drove to the countryside to visit my aunt. At one point, my favorite postcard fly out of the window and was gone, that made me very sad. Short afterwards, we stopped at service station for lunch. I was about to eat my sandwich where a group of bikers pulled into the station. A tall man in grey hair came up to us and asked, “Is that blue car your?” My mom nodded. The man took out my postcard and gave it to my mom. He then returned back to his bicycle. I ran up and thanked him by gave him my sandwich.
