Wolff Poetry Literary Scholarship Awards

If you enjoy poetry and enjoy writing poetry, then we invite you to submit an original poem. Each scholarship we offer will be theme-based and have specific requirements.

Description for Poetry Scholarships

The Wolff Poetry Literary Scholarship Awards is open to students 25 years or younger to the age of 12, either you are a current grade or high school student who is looking forward to attending college or is attending an undergraduate or graduate course in creative writing.

Poetry Scholarship Guidelines

1. Poems can be rhyming or non-rhyming; we do favor non-rhyming.

2. Originality and expressive form about emotions and feelings is what digs at our souls.

3. Poems are judged on the basis of grammar, originality, creativity, and uniqueness.

4. English-language poems only; we will not accept anything else.

5. Enter as often as you like!

Poetry Scholarship Rules

All poems must be the original creation of the submitting author. All rights to the poems must be owned by the author and shall remain the property of the author. The author gives Wolff Poetry Literary Magazine permission to publish and display the poem on the Web (in electronic form only) if the poem is chosen as a winner or finalist. Winners will be contacted within 45 days of the deadline date. The $ 250 scholarship is open to everyone except employees of Wolff Poetry Literary Magazine and their families.

Use your phone’s camera to see a translation of signs. Point the lens at words to see the translation on the phone’s screen. The app works even without an Internet connection.

Google Translate is available for free.

OpenTable

OpenTable is a restaurant reservation app to help users discover and make reservations at restaurants.Search by location, cooking, reviews and prices.

OpenTable includes 31,000 restaurants around the world. Check the app to find information and make reservations within the app.

OpenTable is available free for Android and iPhone and iPad.

Summer School for Effective Leadership 2014
The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups (HKFYG) partners with 2 world-class universities, The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) to offer you the best international summer schools in town! This year the Summer School for Effective Leadership (SSEL) is divided into the HKU Chapter—An Overture to Global Leadership, and HKUST Chapter—The Art of Public Speaking. HKU Chapter—An Overture to Global Leadership
An Overture to Global Leadership, now in its seventh year, is cooperation between the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and the University of Hong Kong with the aims:
1. To nurture youth leaders with solid fundamental knowledge and intensive leadership skills;
2. To strengthen their critical thinking skills, interpersonal skills and problem solving abilities;
3. To reinforce their willingness to serve the community;
4. To further develop global perspective and promote intercultural awareness amongst participants.
Date
Between 18 July 2014 (Friday) and 26 July 2014 (Saturday).
Full attendance is mandatory for the 9-day-8-night programme. Shared-room accommodation in the University dormitory is required.

HKUST Chapter—The Art of Public Speaking
The Art of Public Speaking is a new collaboration between the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology with the aims:
1. To enhance the leadership skills and public speaking skills of participants;
2. To allow youth leaders and speakers to learn from one another, and encourage cultural exchanges;
3. To demonstrate how public speaking skills can be used by leaders to communicate to the public;
4. To allow outstanding student leaders to serve and understand the local community.
Date
Between 14 July 2014 (Monday) and 19 July 2014 (Saturday)
Full attendance is mandatory for the 6-day-5-night programme. Shared-room accommodation in the University dormitory is required.

RUBBISH COLLECTION CURBSIDE(路边回收)

Your household rubbish is collected weekly on your regular collection day. All residents using rubbish barrels must have covers on them to prevent rain/snow water buildup inside.

Please note the following list of items will NOT be picked up by the Sanitation Division:

● Medical Waste or Mercury-Call Health Department at 508-946-2408

● Containers with sharp edges or bottoms.

● Metals, furniture or building materials.

● Recyclable material.

RECYCLE COLLECTION CURBSIDE

Your recyclables will be collected every other week on your regular collection day.

Failure to put your recyclables out on the assigned day causes "double pick-up”.

Please help us to keep costs down.

Items for curbside collection:

● Newspapers and magazines

● Cardboard-Cereal Boxes , Pasta Boxes,Shoe Boxes,Etc.

● Cans and plastics (NO CHILDREN'S TOYS)

● Clear and colored glass ( only brown & green)

How to prepare items for curbside collection:

●Paper Products—please wrap them in plastic grocery bags to protect from rain and wind.

● Cans, plastics and clear and colored glass-RINSE CLEAN.

* All rubbish / recyclables must be out at curbside by 7:00 a.m. on your regular scheduled collection day.
