Anyone can take part in a virtual choir from anywhere—all you need is a video camera and an Internet connection. You do not even need a 【小题1】. A virtual choir helps connect 【小题2】 people together. Many people do not have close friends or contacts 【小题3】 have the same interest in music. Many others do not have the chance to join a local choir. Everyone has the inborn ability to understand and enjoy music. Since the beginning, humans 【小题1】(express) themselves through music.

I recently had a chance to experience conversation through music. In 2008, I【小题2】 (travel) to Manila, Philippines to participate in a high school jazz exchange 【小题3】 many students from all over Asia came together to share their talents. Everyone was mixed into different small groups to prepare for a concert at the end of week. Although 【小题4】 people spoke fluent English, everyone seemed to understand each other simply through the music and there were few times where direct translation 【小题5】(need). At the performance, every group played for a live audience. During my group’s performance, I was able to improvise(合奏) with a Korean boy 【小题6】 spoke very little English. But we managed to have a conversation through our instruments. It was 【小题7】 great experience.

The virture choir was the idea of award- wining 【小题1】 (作曲家) and conductor Eric Whitacre. 【小题2】 (出生于) in the USA on 2January 1970, Whitacre began studying music   at the University of Nevada in 1988.He 【小题3】 (爱上) Mozart’s classical music when he sang for the university choir. Moved by this music, he said, “It was like seeing color for the first time.” He 【小题4】 (毕业于) university in 1995, and then 【小题5】 (获得) a master’s degree in musical composition from the Juilliand School in New York in 1997. Over the next 10 years, Whitacre’s 【小题6】 (原创的) compositions began to become quite popular among choirs and singers. This 【小题7】 (导致) the 【小题8】 (创造) of the virtual choir.
