Patsy Smith has raised ducks for many years. One of her ducks, Peg, losing one of his legs in a fight with a tortoise. Mrs. Smith called for help to see whether anyone could create new leg for him. Many years ago, it was a Sunday morning on my sixth birthday. My father bought me a new bike. I could not wait get on it and learn how to ride, so I begged my father to teach me in the garden.

Before I sat on the new bike, my father helped me put my two hands on the handlebars and my feet on the pedals. Then, he pushed the bike so that the pedals started to move. He was scared! But my father kept encouraging me. I could cycle around the garden shortly after my first try. It was amazed. But unluckily, I was such busy waving at him that I didn’t see a small tree in the front of me. I hit it and fell off the bike. It hurt a lot and I start to cry. My father encouraged me to stand up be brave and try again. Gradually, I was able to ride the bike more skillful.

I kept riding the bike until it was too small for me. It is still one of my most precious possession, for not only was it my first bike, and a symbol of my courage as well as my father’s love.
