Nowadays, people argue a lot about if or not to celebrate western festivals, as western festivals are becoming more and more popular in China, especial among young people. They said they celebrate western festivals because they are exciting than Chinese festivals. In my opinion, western festivals are basing on the cultural traditions of the western country, and I see no reason why we should celebrate their festivals. We are Chinese, and we mustn't forget our cultural roots. In fact, Chinese cultural traditions are really great, but we should take pride in it . On a word, I am prefer Chinese festivals.

Americans think a great deal of about time. From childhood they learn to value time. As children, they were taught to be on time to go to school, to do work and to do everything. When they are having good time, they say that time flies. When a person is dying, they say he is living on borrowing time.

Time is money, is knowledge, and is everything in America. A working American must work hard for 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week, that is the working time. On his spare time he also works for less money. Even Saturdays and Sundays are filled of activities. In the street you can hardly see a man who walk slowly. They walk very fast. In fact, they are running.

It was Mid-autumn Day on last Thursday and it happened to be Chinese National Day. My parents had prepared the gifts for my grandparents three days ago. In the morning, my parents and I got up early and set out to see his grandparents in the countryside. Our arrival made them extremely delight. At noon, we had a big dinner cooking by my mother and grandma. In the evening, with the moon up the sky, we sit in the yard, admiring the moon and enjoy the moon cakes. I really enjoy the company of my parents and grandparents, which fills my family with love and happy. I am also proud that our motherland is growing increasingly strong and powerfully. Festivals let us enjoy the life, be proud of our customs and forget the work for while.
