Four Theaters in Minnesota

Lakeshore Players is one of Minnesota’s oldest community theaters producing musicals, children’s shows, and a yearly Festival of 10-Minute Plays. It also offers youth & adult acting classes and a summer youth project in which students perform as well as giving help in the field of acting. Besides, there is some local food and drinks to choose from.

Laugh with the Stevie Ray’s Comedy Troupe (剧团) as the members create immediate comedies (喜剧) based on the audience’ suggestions. Besides, full food and drink service is provided during the show.

Pillsbury House＋Theatre is a multi-cultural company of artists. In partnership with Pillsbury United Communities, one of the largest human services organizations in the state, Pillsbury House＋Theatre is a model for social services and arts organizations nationwide.

Melodramatic (情节剧式的) productions are presented for families in the summer and quality theatrical productions are offered for the rest of the year.

The New Writers Flash Fiction Competition 2024 is open and we’re seeking your best stories of up to 300 words before January 31st, 2024. You can find the full details about the competition on the New Writers Flash Fiction Competition 2024 page.

There’s a tidy top prize of £1,000 as well as £300 for the second-placed story and £200 for third. We’re also happy that famous author Stephanie Carty has agreed to be our head judge. You can check out details of her published works at her website: stephaniecarty.com.

The entry fees are £10 (one entry), £19 (two entries), or£27(three entries), with early bird entry fees (￡8/£15/£22) available until 30th November, 2023. Note that £1 from each entry will be given free to First Story, which is England’s leading creative writing charity for young people.

The competition is open to people from anywhere in the world and there is no set theme or genre(类型), though it’s not a competition for   “children’s stories”.

Also, we want to make the competition accessible to as many writers as possible. We therefore have up to 50 free entries for low-income writers, available on a first-come, first-served basis, but remember to submit(提交) the entries before 15th January, 2024.
