Recently I spent two days in Dubai, the largest city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). I found the city fascinating to tour, but it was the desert 【小题1】 really appealed to me. So I jumped at the chance 【小题2】 (experience) a desert safari (游猎).

Arriving at the desert, we were impressed with the splendid view before us. Huge dunes (沙丘) spread out amazingly as far as the eye could see. We 【小题3】 (drive) up, down and around 【小题4】 (they) by an experienced Arabian driver. Though in fear, everyone screamed 【小题5】 (delight). At sunset, we headed to the desert camp, where dinner was waiting.

At the camp, we could choose from abundant activities to enjoy before dinner, 【小题6】 camel rides, body painting and taking pictures with an eagle. How cool!

In the center of the camp stood a large stage, 【小题7】 (surround) by rows of low tables on the carpets. Everyone sat on cushions on the ground and had 【小题8】 good view of the center of the stage. Throughout the buffet dinner, we enjoyed several fantastic 【小题9】 (perform).

During my brief stay in Dubai, I saw famous buildings and wandered through spice markets and museums, but my safari into desert was by far the 【小题10】 (attract) part.

Through travelling you can enjoy beautiful views and 【小题1】 ( broad ) your horizons. In summer, you’d better get on a cruise in the city of Chongqing which will take you to the Three Gorges, for those Jiangyou ships are usually too 【小题2】 ( crowd ). Near Yunyang, at the steep edge of the hills 【小题3】 ( stand ) the famous Zhang Fei Temple 【小题4】 ( surround ) by trees. Because smoking 【小题5】 ( forbid ) in the cabins, you have to go to the deck to smoke, 【小题6】 you can enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can see some fishermen 【小题7】 the distance. First, you will go through the Qutang Gorge, which narrows to 350 feet. Then you will sail through Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. However, 【小题8】 impresses you most may be the Daning River in WuShang. There is immense 【小题9】 ( mountain ) land on both banks of Yangtze River with only small areas of flat 【小题10】 ( plain ).

Last year’s springtime【小题1】(be) the perfect moment to visit Huangshan in Anhui Province to go for a hike and see the beautiful scenery that attracts so many【小题2】(visitor) every year. My boyfriend and I prepared the back pack, 【小题3】turned out to be too heavy for the hike. I am an inexperienced hiker and those endless steps made me want to return to safe places. But with the help of my boyfriend’s motivation: “Look, the top is coming closer and closer. We are almost there.” I controlled【小题4】（I）and kept going. After a three-hour exhausting hike to the top, but with spectacular views on the way, we finally arrived on the top and also found a hotel. But all the rooms were too【小题5】(expense) for us. So I asked the possibility of a tent. The hotel owner sold a tent 【小题6】80 RMB. He was such a friendly person that he even offered to put up the tent for us. So the only foreign guests that night ended up 【小题7】sleep) in a tent. We spent the night 【小题8】comfortable) in the tent and at 5 am woke up to see the unbelievable sunrise. Afterwards, we【小题9】continue) to explore the beautiful area around Huangshan and walked all the steps back down to safe grounds, which made my muscles ache even more than the climb up.
