First Aid Course for the Public

Why choose this course?

This course is for anyone over sixteen who wants to learn first aid for their everyday life, rather than as a requirement of their job (in which case a workplace course could be more suitable). It is ideal for people who are more likely to need to use first aid, if they play sports, enjoy travelling, commute (通勤) regularly or care for a relative. It covers a wide range of life-saving skills such as heart attack, choking and more. And it attracts people who are eager to learn first aid for a lot of different reasons, such as:

·wanting to be able to help their family, friends or neighbors

·preparing for university or working abroad during a gap year

·participating in local community groups or sports clubs

·having experienced a real life emergency

What is covered on this first aid course?

You will have hands-on experiences. Our friendly and experienced trainers will help you to learn a number ofkey skills that you really need to know: dealing with an emergency, seizures(痉挛), burns, bleeding heavily, broken bones, head injury, choking, heart attack, stroke and severe allergic reaction.

·You’ll receive a free first aid workbook full of helpful advice; this can be taken home and used to check and refresh your knowledge.

·The workbook includes your certificate of learning, which you can fill in yourself.

The Louvre Museum, Paris

The museum is housed in the Louvre Palace which began as a fortress (要塞) built in the late 12th century, In 1682, Louis XIV chose the palace to display the royal collection. The British Museum, London

The British Museum is the biggest museum in the world. The story of the British Museum goes back 300 years to one unusual man, Sir Hans Sloane, doctor to King George II. The doctor collected books, drawings, clothes, money, animals, flowers, things from all over the world. The British Museum opened in 1759 . Since then many famous men have studied there.

The Uffizi Gallery, Florence

The Uffizi Gallery is one of the most famous museums in the world given the rich amount of unique artworks and masterpieces within its walls, the majority from the Renaissance period. Its large collection has works from all centuries but a large part dates back to the periods between the 12th and 17th centuries. As one of the oldest and most famous art museums of the Western world, the building of the Uffizi Gallery began in 1560.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York

Founded in 1870, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, or “the Met”, is the largest art museum in the USA. Its impressive permanent collection is home to over two million works. It also has an outstanding collection of American and modern art and proudly houses extensive holdings of African, Asian, Oceanic, Indian and Islamic art. Visitors can also find large collections of musical instruments and costumes as well as antique weapons from around the globe.

These exhibitions successfully combine attractive pieces by contemporary Chinese artists with the institution’s century-old collection, drawing 5,000 years of art into a single thrilling conversation. Look out for the 14th-century wine jar decorated with unusual paintings of a whitefish, a mackerel, a freshwater perch and a carp.

“In Pursuit of Fashion: The Sandy Schreier Collection” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art (through May 17)

Featuring about 80 pieces of clothing, this exhibition is, more than anything else, the reflection of one woman’s love affair with fashion. Schreier’s collection contains all the major names, but what defines it more than anything else is her own appreciation of pretty things.

“Edith Halpert Alepert and one Rise of American Art” at the Jewish Museum (through Feb. 9)

This rare show covers the life of an influential art gallery, founded in 1926 by Halpert. Skilled at both business and publicity, she represented excellent pre-war American artists like Stuart Davis and Jacob Lawrence and promoted folk art.
