The UCL Pre-university Summer School for International High School Students is a unique two-week course for students who want to experience life at one of the world's leading universities in the heart of London.

Course dates

27 July- 10 August 2020

Students should arrive in London before 27 July and leave on 11 August.

Entry(入学)requirements

You will have an English language level between IELTS 5.5 and 7.0, but you can still apply with a teacher's reference(推荐信).And you will be an international high school student about to start your final year of high school, usually aged 16 or 17 years old (but not 18) and a non — native English speaker'

Course structure

You will take morning classes in the school, and attend workshops and take part in cultural and social activities most weekday afternoons out of the school.

Morning classes

The course is unique. Unlike other summer courses, it will show you how UCL achieves its goal of making all its students have global minds, helping you to understand global problems from different points of view.

Social activities

The course will also provide you with the chance to meet with other students who are living and studying in London. You will be supported by UCL teachers and trained with UCL students during social activities.

Fees and expenses

The cost of UCL'S Pre-university Summer School for International High School Students is £ 4.000 for each student; this fee doesn't include: lunch and snacks, insurance, UCL Bloomsbury gym.

Sunset Paddle (划桨) Trip in Johnsonville State Historic Park

Time: 6:00 pm — 8:00 pm, May 3
Gathering place: Following the blue directional signs at the park entrance
REGISTER FOR THE EVENT

Join us for a relaxing paddle trip, which will be led by park keepers as we explore the shores of Kentucky Lake. Together we will search historic sites associated with the Civil War and Town Era history of Old Johnsonville. As we kill time in the evening, we’ll keep a lookout for wildlife and enjoy an absolutely amazing sunset over the Tennessee River. Anyone can join the trip; no previous paddling experience is necessary. Park keepers leading the trip are experienced paddlers that are certified in CPR in first aid.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAM INFORMATION — RENTED CANOES

$20 a canoe is for non-members and $15 a canoe for members. A maximum of 6 canoes are available to rent for this trip. Each canoe is limited to 3 adults or 2 adults with 2 children. Canoes, paddles, and life jackets are provided at the same time. Free life jackets are required for all participants. The same goes for liability waivers (安全免责书). No pets will be permitted on this trip as they may disturb wildlife we may be trying to view. The trip will be called off in the event of severe weather and a refund can be applied for. The decision to call off the trip should be made before 12:00 pm on the day prior to the trip. Otherwise, no refund will be issued.

NOTICE

You are recommended to wear water-resistant clothes and shoes, as well as a hat. Sunscreen and bug spray will be available if needed. Check-in will begin at 5:45 pm; don’t be late.
