As we walked out of the office and into the lift no words were spoken.We couldn’t even look at each other.We were both just stunned(愣住) and did not _________what to say to one another.

One day I took an orange — and — white cat home, which I called Splash. However, I had one concern with __ her to my dog, Bee, which had a distinct __ for cats. My own cats were wise enough to ___themselves in the barn（谷仓）and fields. I was _____ that Splash didn't understand this and would be a victim.

I took Splash to the barn, but soon she __ the house and was curious about it. She made a straight line for the door. Every day for the next few weeks, Splash would walk to the___ in the morning, and Bee would come and try to drive her away, only to find a____enemy. When I began school in the 1st grade in America I never thought I'd speak fluent English .I still remember when I was at the airport with my family I was so _______ that I was going to be in a(n） _______ for the first time,heading to a whole _______country. However. when I arrived in America I found wherever I went,I could _______ nothing. I turned to my Spanish teacher for help, ________ he didn't know how to learn English.So I asked him for papers,which had Spanish words with English words next to them.

I started to learn and speak English. Because my "friends" made fun of my __________ .

I started to practice pronouncing every word that I said ________ repeatedly and I was able to ________ at the end of the year. In 10th and 11th grades, my ________was in better shape. I was able to talk,understand and actually hold a conversation,   I was learning new words,pronouncing words better,and talking to strangers as if I had been a________   speaker.

Every experience I have had in the United States has ________   me that I cannot always   ________   a response or help from anyone and I'm responsible for the actions that are needed in order to gain success.Not speaking English in an English-speaking country has helped me to learn to ________myself.
